The 2024 Dubai World Cup Carnival takes place on Friday. Over £1.5m in prize money will be handed out in Meydan this week, with two Group Ones and two Group Twos featuring on an excellent card.

Here are our best betting tips on week four of the Dubai World Cup Carnival.

2:40pm Meydan - Al Fahidi Fort Tips


Mysterious Night is out again, just seven days after his impressive handicap triumph last Friday. While the favourite won that handicap in dominant fashion, this is a fairly generous step up in class and stall one could prove to be a tricky draw for a gelding who isn't always the smoothest starter.

I've always been a fan of MARBAAN (11/2), who won the Vintage Stakes as a juvenile for Charlie Fellowes. Following an underwhelming three-year-old campaign in Britain, I was pleased to see Michael Costa's recruit run so well on his first start in Meydan three weeks ago, finishing a good second to San Donato in the Zebeel Mile. 

Finishing speed has always been Marbaan's strong suit, so this slight drop back in trip should certainly play to his strengths. Tom Marquand will fancy his chances.

3:50pm Meydan - Blue Point Sprint Tips


Another Godolphin runner on quick turnaround is STAR OF MYSTERY (7/2). Charlie Appleby's filly scored an impressive victory in a competitive Al Wasl Stakes two weeks ago, holding off Starlust and Seven Questions to win by a length.

Star Of Mystery will be getting both age and weight allowances from her older rivals in this sprint. With William Buick unable to get down to 8-5, Mickael Barzalona will have his chance to shine on the Godolphin first-string and most of the favourite's main rivals have been drawn on her side of the track.

4:25pm Meydan - Al Maktoum Challenge Tips


With the majority of this field composed of fairly exposed, older horses, I'm not surprised to see recent handicap winner, Kabirkhan installed as the short-priced favourite. The big danger to the market leader is US raider CLAPTON (9/4), who brings some solid stateside form to the table.

Chad Summers' five-year-old won the Ghostzapper Stakes back in April, and the Lukas Classic Stakes on his penultimate start in September, beating horses who'll run in Saturday's Pegasus World Cup on both occasions. Clapton is yet to show his true colours in Group One company, but this isn't a strong race for the grade by any means and the race should set up nicely for Antonio Fresu to pounce late.

5:00pm Meydan - Jebel Hatta Tips


MAWJ (11/8) scored an impressive victory in the 1000 Guineas last spring, beating a future three-time Group One winner in Tahiyra by half-a-length. Having suffered a setback after that Classic win, Saeed bin Suroor's filly showed she hadn't missed a beat in America during the autumn, winning the QEII Challenge Cup over this distance on her reappearance, before a narrow loss to Master Of The Seas in the Breeders' Cup Mile.

There are a couple of obvious dangers to the favourite here. William Buick opted to ride Measured Time in the recent Al Rashiyda, and this lightly-raced son of Frankel registered a powerful win. Spirit Dancer's recent form puts him right in the picture too, but I feel that Mawj is certainly the class act in this field and Oisin Murphy's mount should take plenty of beating.
