2022 Dubai World Cup Night Best Bet - Lord North

Under an excellent ride from Frankie Dettori, LORD NORTH asserted his class in the final few furlongs of last year's Dubai Turf, powering clear to win by three lengths.

Sadly, John Gosden's six-year-old burst blood vessels that day and another setback later in the year meant Lord North missed the entire European campaign.

Gosden's star limbered up for his return to Dubai with a run in the Winter Derby at Lingfield. Rab Havlin's mount was beaten by Alenquer, but that can still be classed as a solid effort considering it was his first run for 11 months and Gosden wouldn't have had him fully wound up.

The Dubai Turf has been the target for Lord North. Although he faces a stiffer task this year compared to last, I still think Frankie Dettori's mount has an excellent chance of defending his crown.

2022 Dubai World Cup Night Next Best - Shahryar

In terms of depth, this could be the best Sheema Classic there's ever been. Six of the 15 entrants are rated in the 120s, including classy European horses like Yibir, Alenquer, Dubai Honour and Pyledriver.

Japan plays an incredibly strong hand too, with Authority, Glory Vase, Stella Veloce and Uberleben taking their chance. My preference is for SHAHRYAR, who's done very little wrong so far in his short career.

Tetsuya Kimura's four-year-old won the Japanese Derby over this trip back in May. Shahryar was then fancied to trouble Contrail in the Japan Cup and looked perfectly placed to challenge as the field turned for home. Just as Yuga Kawada began to angle his mount out around Authority, Contrail came past on his outside and slammed the door in his face, after which Shahryar failed to regather his momentum.

You could make a strong case for plenty in this race. However, Japan has enjoyed such a fantastic time on the global racing scene over the past year, and a Group One winner on Dubai World Cup night would cap it off nicely.

2022 Dubai World Cup Night Value Bet - Alignak

Manobo is 1/2 to win this year's Dubai Gold Cup and it's hard to knock his credentials. A yawning chasm behind the favourite in the betting makes an each-way punt look appealing and ALIGNAK brings some solid form to the party.

Jamie Osbourne's six-year-old placed second behind the impressive Siskany in the 14-furlong Al Khail Trophy, before going down by half-a-length in the Race Of Future Handicap over a shorter trip. Alignak has shaped like a stayer on a number of occasions and wasn't beaten far on his only previous effort over two miles at Newcastle in December. Saffie Osbourne's mount has really taken to racing in Dubai, and if he's still in touch with the leaders turning for home, he could find a way into the paid places.

2022 Dubai World Cup Night Value Bet - Casa Creed

Casa Creed E/W1:35pm Al Quoz Sprint (Grade 1) 6fGET 12/1 HERE
18+ only. Gambling can be addictive. Play responsibly.

Like many of the races on Saturday's card, this year's Al Quoz Sprint is looking incredibly open. Godolphin plays a strong hand, but I'm going to take the boys in blue on with Billy Mott's US raider, CASA CREED.

Luis Saez's mount powered home from the rear to win the Grade One Jaipur Stakes over six furlongs at Belmont last season. After failing to show his best form over a mile, Casa Creed ran a cracker from a wide draw to finish just a neck behind Songline in the seven-furlong 1351 Turf Sprint at Riyadh last time out. There's plenty of early pace drawn up on his side of the track, so if Casa Creed can break quickly and find a clear path to the line, he possesses a finishing kick that could see him challenge for the victory.
