The 2023 Dubai World Cup Carnival rolls into it's sixth week on Friday. The UAE version of the 2000 Guineas headlines the action on Friday, with several other lucrative races featuring on another stacked card.
We've taken a look through the full card and picked out our best betting tips on week six of the 2023 Dubai World Cup Carnival.
2023 Dubai World Cup Carnival Week 6 Tips
Race 1 - Handicap Tips
The three Godolphin runners who top this betting heat all bet in the Zabeel Turf Handicap two weeks ago. Falling Shadow finished the best of the three and he's the chosen ride of William Buick. I'd rather side with BLUE TRAIL, who crossed the line just a length-and-a-half behind Falling Shadow, having been forced to weave through traffic from a tricky draw in stall one.
Charlie Appleby's four-year-old did all of his best work on good fround last season, placing in lucrative handicaps at Sandown and Goodwood. The downpour that hit Meydan 14 days ago wouldn't have suited Blue Trail. On nicer ground, from a much kinder draw in stall seven, I expect James Doyle's mount to run a much better race.
Race 4 - Curlin Handicap Tips
WHITE WOLF also ran in that Zabeel Turf handicap, staying on past his fellow Godolphin flagbearers to push Good Fortune all the way to the line, eventually losing out by a neck.
Saeed bin Suroor's charge ran three times in the UK last season, winning twice on the all-weather while also finishing sixth behind Epsom Derby winner, Desert Crown in the Dante. Those victories on synthetic surfaces give me hope that White Wolf will deal with the Meydan dirt and he remains well-handicapped running off 102.
Race 5 - Blue Point Sprint Tips
Charlie Appleby will saddle the top two in the betting ahead of this race named after his three-time Royal Ascot winner. Lazuli defeated Man Of Promise and many of his other rivals when winning the Dubai Dash last time out, but he could find things a little more difficult having been drawn down in stall one.
At the prices, I'll take an each-way punt on THUNDER OF NIAGRA, who returned odds of 16/1 when winning a handicap over this course-and-distance last month. Ray Dawson's mount then ran a cracker in the Dubai Sprint last week, finishing less than a length behind second-favourite, Man Of Promise when third over six furlongs and he could be even more effective back down over this shorter trip.
Race 7 - Business Bay Challenge Tips
I AM SUPERMAN made a pleasing return to Michael O'Callaghan's stable in the Zabeel Mile three weeks ago. Colin Keane's mount got off to a sluggish start but picked up nicely from the rear to finish a game third behind Master Of The Seas.
During his stint in Australia, I Am Superman did all of his winning over seven furlongs, so seeing out a mile on the back of a decent break was always going to be a big ask. O'Callaghan will now drop his charge back down to his optimum distance and we know there's much more to come from this talented seven-year-old. He'd be my best bet on Friday's card.
I Am Superman is our NAP of the day the Business Bay Challenge on week six of the 2023 Dubai World Cup Carnival.
