Leading the market we find Belagrion, who jumped to the head of the Durban July betting after a bloodless triumph in the World Sports Betting 1900. Justin Snaith’s five-year-old went into that Grade Two as the odds-on favourite, following three-straight handicap wins, and duly brushed aside his rivals with the greatest of ease.

Sitting behind Belagrion is fellow Justin Snaith bunkmate, Do It Again, who will attempt to become the first horse to land a hat-trick of Duban July wins. They are two of five Justin Snath entrants in the 2020 Durban July, with recent Drill Hall Stakes winner, Bunker Hunt also likely to make an appearance.

Rainbow Bridge finished a close second to Do It Again in last year’s renewal of the Durban July. After two further narrow defeats in both the Queen’s Plate and the SunMet, Eric Sands’ star finally claimed an overdue victory in the Gold Challenge, and he currently splits Belagrion and Do It Again in the betting.

SunMet winner, Vardy was beaten by Rainbow Bridge in the Gold Challenge when last seen, and will be gunning for revenge in the Durban July. The only other entrant sitting on a single-figure price is three-year-old Got The Greenlight, who bounced back from defeat in the South African Derby with a fine victory in the Daily News 2000.

Twist Of Fate, Eyes Wide Open and Miyabi Gold rounded off the top five in the 2019 Durban July, and all three could take their chance again. Soqrat looks to be Mike De Kock’s only representative, with Sean Tarry looking likely to throw Shango and Tierra Del Fuego into the mix.
