In the immediate aftermath of the 1000 Guineas, Santa Barbara was all the rage in the Epsom Oaks betting. Despite finishing fourth at Newmarket, many felt her performance was strong and that the beaten favourite would improve for a step up in trip.
For the last few weeks, Aidan O'Brien's filly has held firm around the 6/4, 7/4 mark at the top of the Oaks betting. However, that all changed this week, as support for two of her stablemates saw Santa Barbara drift out to 9/4.
Snowfall jumped into second-favouritism for Epsom after an impressive victory in the Musidora Stakes at York. After that, Aidan O'Brien confirmed she would join Santa Barbara in the Oaks and this week, Snowfall has been cut from 5s into 4/1.
Strangely, it's the third Ballydoyle runner in the Oaks betting, Divinely who has also been supported the most this week.
A full sister to O'Brien's 2016 Arc winner Found, Divinely could only finish fourth in a fairly weak renewal of the Oaks Trial at Lingfield earlier this month. That hasn't stopped punters from pilling into the Ballydoyle third-string and Divinely has had her odds cut from 40s right into 12/1.
Divinely now sits joint-fifth in bet365's betting for the Epsom Oaks, strengthening Aidan O'Brien's stranglehold on the betting. Zeyaadah and Teona can be found at single-figure prices, with Dubai Fountain and Saffron Beach sitting alongside Divinely on 12/1.
