The sun beamed down on Epsom Downs as the runners in this year's Epsom Oaks took in the parade ring.
Savethelastdance has been incredibly strong in the betting following her emphatic victory in the Cheshire Oaks and Aidan O'Brien's filly carried an odds-on price into Friday's Classic feature.
John and Thady Gosden's fillies, Soul Sister and Running Lion were both popular in the market against the favourite. Charlie Appleby's Eternal Hope was fairly friendless in the market, with all of the remaining six runners all going off at 33/1 or longer.

There was a delay to the start of the race after Running Lion backed out of the stalls. With the field now down to ten, Sea Of Roses bounced out into an early lead with Heartache Tonight. Red Riding Hood moved up into a prominent position ahead of Savethelastdance, with Frankie Dettori biding his time near the rear aboard Soul Sister.
At the top of Tattenham Corner, Sea Of Roses still held a narrow lead. Ryan Moore was already riding Savethelastdance along at the five-furlong pole. The favourite responded, moving into contention, but Aidan O'Brien's runner was swamped by two closing from the rear of the field.
Jack Channon's Caernarfon cruised into the race and moved into a narrow lead. Travelled even better was Soul Sister, who was pushed to the front by a motionless Frankie Dettori and was pushed out to win by a couple of lengths.
Savethelastdance got back up in the closing stages to beat Caernarfon into second. Hardly any of the other runners got involved in the race. The favourite didn't seem comfortable on the quick ground. Soul Sister did though and her impressive victory handed Frankie Dettori a seventh and final victory in the Oaks.
