The final field of 34 for the 2025 Grand National has been confirmed
Defending champion I Am Maximus tops the weight this year
Stumptown, Iroko and Intense Raffles sit prominently in the market

The final 34-horse field was confirmed for today for the 2025 Grand National, which takes place at 4:00pm at Aintree on Saturday.

Paul Townend takes the ride on the defending champion I Am Maximus, having guided him to victory 12 months ago. This year's top-weight is one of six runners in the race for Willie Mullins, who'll also be represented by Nick Rockett, Grangeclare West, Appreciate It, Minella Cocooner and Meetingofthewaters.

Kandoo Kid is the headline act for Paul Nicholls, whose five-strong squad includes Bravemansgame, Hitman, Threeunderthrufive and Stay Away Fay. Gordon Elliott is represented by Conflated, Fil Dor, Three Card Brag and Duffle Coat. Gavin Cromwell, meanwhile, has three runners, with Vanillier, Stumptown and Perceval Legallois all representing the Gold Cup-winning trainer.

Iroko is the highest-placed home runner in the betting. Nicky Henderson will rely on Hyland and Chantry House as he looks to end his long wait for a first Grand National win. Rachael Blackmore has opted to ride Minella Indo over stablemate Senior Chief. Other notable jockey bookings include Gavin Sheehan aboard Hewick, Sam Twiston-Davies on Beauport for his father Nigel, and JJ Slevin in the saddle of Irish Grand National winner, Intense Raffles.

There are four reserves for this year's race, should any of the top 34 drop out between now and the morning of the Grand National. Former Cheltenham Festival winner, Shakem Up'Arry is the first-reserve, with Roi Mage, Favori De Champdou and Fantastic Lady next in line.
