ITV Racing Tips - Aintree Tips on Saturday 10th April

Race 1 - EFT Systems Handicap Hurdle Tips

With my original selection, Polish now out of the race, I'm going to take a small punt on ASHTOWN LAD for Harry and Dan Skelton. Ashtown Lad impressed at the start of the season, following an impressive maiden win with an excellent handicap triumph at Uttoxeter, where he cantered to a 12-length win.

Ashtown Lad was then backed into 6/4 to win a Grade Two at Cheltenham, but didn't get up the hill. Skelton's charge hasn't been seen since pulling up in the River Don, after which the vets found blood in his throat. Ashtown Lad has been given plenty of time to recover after that run, and he's also undergone a minor wind-op. Back in handicap company, he could be very competitive.

Race 2 - Mersey Novices' Hurdle Tips

I'm a big fan of My Drogo. Dan Skelton's star has done nothing wrong this season, and his performance at Kelso last time out was superb. However, we saw at the Cheltenham Festival how superior the Irish novices are to the British this season, and I feel BALLYADAM is the one to side with here.

Following his Grade One win at Fairyhouse, many called for Ballyadam to be stepped up in distance. Yet, Henry De Bromhead's charge has remained over the minimum distance, losing three times to Appreciate It.

At the Dublin Racing Festival, it was a final flight error that stopped Ballyadam from finishing closer to the winner. Again in the Supreme, a terrible blunder at the second-last brought Ballyadam to a near standstill, and he recovered brilliantly just to finish second.

Stepping up in trip will take the pressure off his jumping, and there's plenty in his breeding to suggest he'll take well to this step up in trip. Rachael Blackmore's mount looks to be the strongest bet.

Race 3 - Maghull Novices' Chase Tips

If SHISHKIN gets around, he'll win. Simple as that. There's no scope for an each-way bet either, with just five runners in the field. Just sit back and admire the best novice chaser in training.

Race 5 - Betway Handicap Chase Tips

A really tricky puzzle to try and solve, as many of the runners hold some sort of appeal. The one who's treated best at the weights could be SNOW LEAPARDESS, so I'm going to place my faith in Brian Hughes' mount.

Snow Leopardess won well over this distance in a handicap at Haydock in November, before running Canelo close in the Rowland Meyrick on Boxing Day. Charlie Longsdon's mare was last seen finishing fourth in the National Hunt Chase - a highly respectable performance considering the trio who finished infront of her wouldn't look out of place in Grade Ones.

Snow Leopardess is more than capable of challenging off her current mark of 138, and she only has 10-10 to shoulder.

Race 7 - Standard Open National Hunt Flat Race Tips

Having finished second to a Grade One placer in Gentlemansgame in a point-to-point, BALKO COASTAL went into his bumper debut at Kempton as a 5/4 shot. Nicky Henderson's charge romped to victory that day, flying home in the final two furlongs to win by 17 lengths.

On the same card over the same trip, 142-rated Southfield Stone made all to win in 3m 46s. Earlofthecotswold clocked a winning time of 3m 41s, while Hooper - who's rated 122 over hurdles - won in 3m 40s. Balko Coastal stopped the clock in an impressive time of 3m 33s, and the RPR of 130 he received for that performance has only been bettered by Sir Gerhard and Kilcruit this season. He could be something special.
