We take a look through the card on the third and final day of the Guineas Festival and provide readers with our tips for every race.

Quadrilateral and Love do battle in a fascinating renewal of the 1000 Guineas on Sunday afternoon. The final card of today’s Guineas Festival feature several excellent races, and we’ve got tips for all of them!

Guineas Festival Day Three Tips

Race One – Maiden Stakes

Future Vision is beautifully bred and could make a big impact on debut. My preference, though, is with another of the four Godolphin representatives in this maiden, NOBLE DYNASTY

Charlie Appleby’s newcomer is a half-brother to former St James’s Palace Stakes winner, Barney Roy. His sire, Dubawi won on his first career start over six furlongs, and Dubawi’s progeny are more than capable of hitting the ground running. These maidens are always very difficult to predict, but Noble Dynasty is a solid selection in Sunday’s opener.

Race Two - Buckhounds Stakes

With the majority of the field bringing nothing more than handicap form to the table, the vote here has to go to COMMUNIQUE. Mark Johnston’s charge spent the backend of last season running in Germany’s biggest middle-distance races, finishing just a length behind French King in the Preis von Berlin.

Communique’s record at Newmarket reads a perfect four-from-four. Johnston’s gelding won two Group Twos here last term; first beating future Group One winner Defoe in the Jockey Club Stakes, before another comfortable triumph in the Princess Of Wales Stakes during the July Meeting. As the last of his wins came before the end of August, Communique will have no penalties to should on Sunday. He looks an excellent bet sitting on 3/1.

Race Three – Betfair Exchange Handicap

Good Birthday could still be well handicapped running off 98, and it’s easy to see why Andrew Balding’s charge leads the way in the betting. On this occasion though, I’d rather take an each-way punt on WEST END CHARMER, who looks overpriced sitting on double-figure odds.

Mark Johnston’s colt rounded off a progressive three-year-old campaign with an excellent handicap victory at Doncaster. West End Charmer destroyed four future winners by four lengths that day, earning an RPR of 106 for his troubles. William Buick’s mount is unbeaten in two starts over this trip and West End Charmer has done his best work on firmer ground.

Race Four – Pretty Polly Stakes

John Gosden has won four of the last six runnings of this Listed race, so it’s no surprise to see two of his fillies heading the betting. Tiempo Vuela ran out an easy winner on her only two-year-old start, but the form of that race has hardly been boosted, with the two who placed behind her failing to win in five subsequent starts between them.

Run Wild finished a place behind Alpen Rose when they met in the May Hill Stakes and both look well suited to a step up in trip. But the one I’m very keen to side with, in what looks a wide-open contest, is QUEEN DAENERYS.

This daughter of Frankel boasts some strong two-year-old form, losing out to 1000 Guineas contender, Cloak Of Spirits on debut, before beating Wasaayef in a maiden on the Rowley Mile. Roger Varian’s filly was then a little outclassed in the Fillies’ Mile, but stayed on gamely to finish sixth. Queen Daenerys is bred to improve as she gets older, this step up in trip looks ideal and she’s had plenty of time to get over an autumn wind operation.

Race Six – Betfair Exchange Handicap

This really is a “stick a pin in the paper” kind of race, with nothing really screaming out to separate any of the runners. The one I feel could be overpriced is SHELIR, who makes his first start for David O’Meara, having arrived from Dermot Weld’s yard during the winter.

Shelir won a Listed prize last spring, before going on to finish 11th in the Irish 2000 Guineas. Results faded badly after that Classic at the Curragh, but a switch to fresh surroundings may help bring about a return to top form, and Shelir is capable of running better than his opening handicap mark.

Race Seven - Novice Stakes (Div 1)

The bookies have King Leonidis and EASTERN WORLD some way ahead of the competition here, and the latter will be in-receipt of seven pounds from the favourite. Charlie Appleby’s charge finished second on his only two-year-old start, placing second behind Starcat over a mile at Kempton.

The winner of that race took part in the 2000 Guineas on Saturday, so he’s clearly very highly thought of by connections. Eastern World is a half-brother to dual Dubai World Cup winner Thunder Snow, and it won’t be long before he starts winning good races. Sunday would be a great stepping stone towards bigger and better things.

Race Eight - Novice Stakes (Div 2)

Sunray Major is out of the same brood mare who spawned Kingman, Remote and First Eleven, so there’s plenty expected of this daughter of Dubawi on debut. Yet, it could be worth taking a chance on BOSS POWER, who gave Al Suhail and two other rivals a five-length head-start on his first career start at Yarmouth last year.

Sir Michael Stoute’s youngster understandably finished last that day, but the betting had Boss Power as the second-favourite to Al Suhail, who ran in the 2000 Guineas on Saturday. By Frankel out of a mare who’s produced two pattern-race winners, Boss Power is bred to reach a high level over this sort of trip, and could be worth a speculative each-way wager.

Race Nine – Betfair Handicap

Another handicap where Godolphin play a strong hand, accounting for four of the top six in the market. ENCIPHER brings, by far, the best form to the table and Frankie Dettori could be celebrating in those famous blue silks on Sunday evening.

Having finished second to Path Of Thunder – and ahead of 1000 Guineas contender, Boomer – Encipher then handed Native Tribe a comfortable beating on his second career start. Siyouni’s progeny often progress when stepped up over a mile, and Encipher looks to have everything going in his favour.

Plenty will fancy their chances in the final race of the Guineas Festival, and I’m going to place my faith in MOUNTAIN PEAK at an each-way price. Ed Walker’s sprinter loves fast ground, with his most recent wins at Ascot and on the July Course at Newmarket both coming on very quick going. Mountain Peak was bumped back up to 88 after a strong second at Bath on his final run of the campaign, but should still be able to challenge for the victory off that mark.
