One of four Group 1 races on the International Races card at Sha Tin, the Hong Kong Mile has been the scene for some of the world's best thoroughbreds.
Who could forget the epic Sunline vs Fairy King Prawn battle in 2000? Or Good Ba Ba's three consecutive wins from 2007-2009?
It's a race that spawns a champion thoroughbred and looking to repeat his wins in 2017 and 2018 is Beauty Generation, which heads the field for the 2019 race this December.

It's hard to believe punters were able to get 2.50 for Beauty Generation when we tipped out the champion runner, which started as the 1.50 favourite on race night.
Touted as one of the best milers in the world, the former Australasian runner dealt to his rivals in an impressive display. The field might not have featured any of the world's best, but he staked his claim as one of them.
Here's why we tipped him on top.
"Beauty Generation has cemented himself as one of the best thoroughbreds in the world and that was evident with the geldings win in this race last year. Looking to go back-to-back, the six-year-old is in fine form and looks the toughest to beat once again.
The John Moore-trained son of Rock To Rock scored a convincing win in the Group 3 Celebration Cup in October before backing that up with a Group 2 Sha Tin Trophy win later that month when beating the likes of Pakistan Star and Eage Way.
The Hong Kong Mile field will be another rise in class from those two races and there are some unknown types in the field, but he has the class edge and is relatively bomb proof."
