2022 Hong Kong Sprint Next Best Bet - Naran Huleg

The Japanese sprinters are a mostly even bunch, with Naran Huleg recording arguably the run of the race in the Group One Sprinters Stakes on Oct 2.

According to the current market, that Nakayama dash is the key form reference for the visitors and this six-year-old was the eye-catcher there.

A Group One winner in March over the six furlongs, Naran Huleg lacks tactical speed, but with clean air, he'll chime in late if they go hard early.

2022 Hong Kong Sprint Value Bet - Cordyceps Six

A stablemate to Wellington is the Richard Gibson-trained Cordyceps Six, a gelding that quickly worked through the grades in his first two Hong Kong seasons.

Spelled after a Group Three win in May, the son of Star Turn has been a single figure quote in all three lead-up runs, finishing fifth in the latest.

While he looks likely to go back again, that last run was a strong chasing performance and as a four-year-old, he's still got plenty of upside.
