Best Bet - Lucky Sweynesse

Hong Kong's leading sprinter is still searching for his best form, however, he got a confidence booster last start with a narrow win in the Jockey Club sprint over this track/trip on November 19.

It's no shock that Lucky Sweynesse saluted in a Group 1 over 1400m in February, as he appears to battling a shade in these sprints when the leaders can drop anchor and dictate.

The five-year-old now finally gets a six-furlong dash with genuine speed, which he's seemingly looking for and with cover off a stronger tempo, we can see the real Lucky Sweynesse unlash late.

Next Best Bet - Aesop's Fable

This colt is one of the stronger chances that Aidan O'Brien has ever prepared for the Hong Kong Sprint, with Aesop's Fable arriving off an eye-catching third in the Breeders' Cup Turf.

That was the sixth Group 1 attempt overall for the son of No Say Never and while he's yet to prevail in those attempts, he is knocking on the door and the set-up here looks favourable.

As a sprinter who appreciates being saved up for one last big dash, Aesop's Fable will be able to let down late if there's galloping room, as he'll no work in transit under jockey Ryan Moore.

Value Bet - Mad Cool

This Japanese entire was only just tipped out last start via the Sprinters Stakes and was his first ever Group 1 attempt, having been well held as an odds-on fav in a Group 3 before that.

That July 2 outing was his only time finishing out of the money 10 career starts, with Mad Cool recording a four-peat as a three-year-old in 2022 when quickly working through the grades.

Although he's drawn out, this sprinter is tactically versatile and with Victor The Winner, Jasper Krone and Highfield Princess all looking to push forward, they may look for a trail here.
