2021 Irish Derby Runners

Topping the market we find High Definition, who stayed on well for third on his only appearance of the season so far in the Dante Stakes. The form of that York race worked out fairly well in the Derby, and Aidan O'Brien is confident his colt will improve massively for that return run.

Hurricane Lane defeated High Definition in the Dante, and went on to run well in the Derby at Epsom, finishing third behind stablemate Adayar. Mojo Star split the Godolphin stablemates at Epsom, the third runner-up finish of his career, and Richard Hannon's raider currently sits between Hurricane Lane and High Definition in the betting.

Irish 2000 Guineas hero, Mac Swiney stayed on well for fourth in the Epsom Derby, and Jim Bolger's star boasts a strong record at the Curragh. Another British raider, Lone Eagle can also be found at single-figure odds, and Martyn Meade has booked Frankie Dettori to take the ride.

Van Gogh could join stablemate High Definition in Saturday's Irish Derby. Aidan O'Brien has also left Royal Ascot runners Sir Lamorak, Wordsworth, The Mediterranean and Arturo Toscanini in the mix. Carlisle Bay and Matchless could also fly the flag for Ballydoyle.

Johnny Murtagh could be represented by Earlswood, while Donnacha O'Brien has handed an entry to Fernando Vichi. Joseph O'Brien's Southern Lights, Jessica Harrington's Taipan and Seattle Sound, who runs for Luke Comer, round off the Irish Derby betting.
