Despite the lack of any Irish entrants, viewers can still look forward to a typically terrific renewal of the Ladbrokes Trophy, when it's staged at Newbury at the end of next month.
Paul Nicholls has earmarked this handicap as the starting-point for 2019 RSA Chase winner, Topofthegame, as he's pointed towards the Cheltenham Gold Cup. Topofthegame missed the entirety of last season through injury, but that hasn't stopped punter backing Nicholls' eight-year-old into 5/1 solo-favouritism.
The only other entrant sitting on a single-figure price with race-sponsors Ladbrokes is Colin Tzzard's Copperhead, who enjoyed an excellent novice chasing campaign last season. Tizzard has celebrated victory in two of the last four editions of this handicap, and Copperhead could be joined in the field by stablemates Slate House and Mister Malarky.
De Rasher Counter held off The Conditional to win the 2019 Ladbrokes Trophy, and he'll return to defend his crown. The Conditional, who won the Ultima at Cheltenham in the spring, could return for another crack at the Ladbrokes.
Northern Trust Handicap winner, Imperial Aura could step up to three miles at Newbury. Kim Bailey could fire two arrows at the Ladbrokes Trophy, with Vinndication also entered up.
Fellow Cheltenham winners like Coo Star Sivola, Beware The Bear, Siruh Du Lac and Blaklion also featured amongst the entries at the 30-day stage. Other notable entrants include Tom George's Black Op, Two For Gold, La Bague Au Roi and Kildisart.
