The Jamie Richards stable is firing this season and along with Te Akau Shark, Melody Belle is setting the standard.

She currently holds the New Zealand record for local Group 1 wins with nine. The underrated daughter of Commands has won 14 of her 24 starts for almost $2 million in stake money.

Melody Belle has experience winning in Australia when running during the Brisbane Winter Carnival and she’s a stronger horse now.

She’s a five-year-old mare in the peak of her powers and we’re confident she has the ability to win a race like this.

Fidelia has yet to win during this spring but she’s knocking on the door of a statement win in Melbourne.

That’s the case this time around after she finished sixth in the Blazer Stakes before running third at Caulfield behind Spanish Reef.

We’re unsure how the form out of that race will stack up but she’s a quality type which should be hitting the line with real purpose.

Punters will have to take Amphitrite on trust but she could produce a season-best performance.
