The 2020 Melbourne Cup looks incredibly open with one of the most competitive fields we have seen in years.

The likes of Tiger Moth, Anthony Van Dyck, Surprise Baby, Russian Camelot, Prince Of Arran and Sir Dragonet all are fighting out current favouritism, with the chances of the race not ending at these horses.

Check out who we are placing in our exotics for the 2020 Melbourne Cup.

2020 Melbourne Cup Exotics Definitions

Quinella - Selected horses must run in the first two placings as they cross the finish line

Exacta - Selected horses must finish in first and second spot, in the correct order that you choose them in, unless the bet is boxed where they can finish in any order.

Trifecta - Selected horses must run in the first three placings as they cross the finish line

First Four - Selected horses must finish in the first four placings as they cross the finish line

2020 Melbourne Cup Exotics Tips

13. Surprise Baby

He is the horse who should have won last year's race, had there been a more genuine tempo in front. This year with that expected, we are confident that he can go all the way with a positive gate and Craig Williams in the saddle.

21. Tiger Moth

The horse that profiles to win the race based on recent history. He is a Northern Hemisphere 3YO, as was Rekindling (2017 1st), Cross Counter (2018 1st) and Il Paradiso (2019 3rd) in their respective years. Dominating at his latest start, his only concern coming into the race is the wide barrier.

12. Prince Of Arran

The horse who has placed in the last two Melbourne Cups cannot be left out of exotics because of what he has done in this race in the past. He will get a smother near the speed and with Jamie Kah in the saddle, he will only need a little gap at the top of the straight to find himself in the finish once again.

9. Stratum Albion

He is the horse that can add a lot of value to our exotics if he were to find himself inside the top four. He profiles similar to Max Dynamite who finished in the placing in his two attempt at the Cup. Coming from a jumping background, he finished second in the flat race, the Lonsdale Cup at his latest attempt.

5. Sir Dragonet

The 2020 Cox Plate winner had conditions to suit in that race, running on a soft track and proving too good over his favourable trip. There have been many thoughts that he will run this trip out strongly and although his wet track form is super, he only finished 3/4 of a length from Anthony Van Dyck in an Epsom Derby.

4. Master Of Reality

Nearly knocking over Il Paradiso last year, he was demoted from second spot to fourth, and is back looking for vengeance this year. He comes over in better form, running second in the Irish St Leger Trial and winning a Group Three at his latest attempt. He handles Australian conditions and is expected to run well once again.
