2020 Falmouth Stakes Tips & Betting Picks

The Falmouth Stakes is one of the more popular Group 1 races during the Newmarket July Festival and we have tips available.

A field of only seven runners has been quoted by bookmakers but that's going to make way for an even contest over the mile.

Which runner will follow in the footsteps of Veracious and win the 2020 Falmouth Stakes?

2020 Falmouth Stakes Best Bet - I Can Fly @ 4.50

Aidan O'Brien lines up the four-year-old filly which has won four of her 17 starts to date and brings plenty of experience to this race.

The Australian-bred filly by Fastnet Rock comes into this having finished third in the Group 2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Ascot and those form lines look good enough to win the Falmouth Stakes.

Her most recent win came in March when she defeated a small field of four runners by eight lengths and although her form since has been mixed, she is a value runner at the odds.

Watch for any late betting movement as market confidence could be key.

2020 Falmouth Stakes Best Each Way - Qabala @ 4.50

Qabala is a rising star of the turf after posting two wins from her first four starts. The three-year-old filly won her first two starts before making the ultimate leap to Group 1 grade.

She finished third behind Hermosa in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket before disappointing in the Irish 1000 Guineas, but she's capable of rebounding.

The progeny of Scat Daddy have been performing well all around the world and Qabala looks another strong chance for the American stallion.

There are worse chances at 4.50 and punters should dive into that price.

2020 Falmouth Stakes Best Roughie - Veracious @ 8.00

It's tough to find a roughie in a seven-horse field but Veracious is paying enough to warrant inclusion.

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained filly was good enough to finish third behind Alpha Centauri at Ascot in 2018 before running third behind Wild Illusion at Goodwood.

She has recorded a Group 3 win at Sandown since then and although her form this preparation has been mixed, she hasn't been all that far away.

There won't be much covering this field top to bottom and if Veracious gets a nice run in transit, she could be hitting the line best.
