Race 1 - Australia Handicap Tips

Al Qaqaa1:10pm TDN Australia Handicap (Class 3) 1m3fGET 15/8 HERE

Fancied horses have a very strong record in this middle-distance handicap, and I can see that trend continuing with AL QAQAA. William Haggas' charge showed promise at three, and has built on that this term, finishing third to On Guard before romping to victory in a novice stakes last time out.

Jim Crowley's mount is up nine pounds for that eight-length success. Yet, Al Qaqaa clearly has much more to offer, he's proven over this trip and Haggas' stable is in great form. A worthy favourite in the opener.

Race 2 - Oak Tree Stakes Tips

One Master is clearly the classiest mare in this race. William Haggas' six-year-old has won the last two runnings of the Group One Prix de la Foret over this seven-furlong trip, and won't carry a Group One penalty into this race.

However, the draw has done the favourite no favours. Stall One can be tricky at the best of times, especially for a horse who likes to be held up. Tom Marquand has got a real job on his hands.

With that in mind, I'm inclined to take an each-way punt on UNDER THE STARS. James Tate's filly has tried a mile a couple of times, but never particularly enjoyed it. Over seven, her results and performances have been much better, winning a Group Two as a juvenile and a competitive Listed race at Haydock this season.

Being a three-year-old, she'll be gaining weight on the older horses around her, and I think quick ground around Goodwood will suit this speedy sort.

Race 3 - Thoroughbred Stakes Tips

Although there are a couple of decent horses in opposition, I think this will be a walk in the park for KHALOOSY. Roger Varian's colt looked a Group One-quality animal when storming clear in the Britannia, and I expect he will take this step up in class firmly in his stride.

Race 4 - Unibet Golden Mile Handicap Tips

Cliffs Of Capri E/W2:45pm Unibet Golden Mile Handicap (Class 2) 1mGET 9/1 HERE

Prompting tops the market for this ultra-competitive handicap. Montatham comes next, big the recent trends of the Golden Mile are firmly against the top two. Only two of the last ten winners were rated less than 98, and a low draw has proven to be a massive advantage.

The first horse I'm going to side with is CLIFFS OF CAPRI, who was my selection when finishing second in the International Handicap last week.

Jamie Osbourne's six-year-old finished a close fourth in two handicaps here last season, but he was denied a clear run at a crucial stage on both occasions. Cliffs Of Capri is in solid form, he remains on the same mark of 97 he carried at Ascot and has landed a lovely low draw in stall four.

Bless Him E/W2:45pm Unibet Golden Mile Handicap (Class 2) 1mGET 14/1 HERE
18+ only. Gambling can be addictive. Play responsibly.

I'm also going to take a punt on the classy BLESS HIM for David Simcock. Under expert rides by Jamie Spencer, Simcock's charge beat Solid Stone and Lord North in consecutive handicaps last season - form which has been made to look top-quality this season.

Bless Him has been well beaten in Listed and Group Two races so far this term, but his mark has dropped back to 105, and his running style could suit Goodwood perfectly.

Race 5 - King George stakes Tips

I won't spend too long explaining why BATTAASH is going to win this race for a fourth year in a row. He just will.

Liberty Beach will follow him home in second, as she's the second-best sprinter in this race. Al Raya is a consistent sort who could enjoy the quicker ground. There's your 1-2-3.

Race 6 - Glorious Stakes Tips

Desert Encounter3:45pm L'Ormarins Queen's Plate Glorious Stakes (Group 3) 1m4fGET 3/1 HERE

Communique has looked much more like his old self in recent starts, and has course form to bolster his claims. I, however, think there's more value to be gained backing last year's winner, DESERT ENCOUNTER to make it two in a row.

David Simcock's globe-trotting stable star usually needs a couple of runs at the start of each season, and it's certainly looked that way so far this term. On the back of a similar performance at Newmarket last term, Desert Encounter won here at Goodwood, before landing another Group Three at Newbury and the Woodbine International.

Similar prizes will be on his agenda this season. He may be an eight-year-old now, but Desert Encounter is certainly still capable of winning races like this.

Race 7 - Nursery Handicap Tips

Perotto4:20pm New Unibet Instant Roulette Nursery Handicap (Class 2) 6fGET 6/1 HERE

Zamaani has to give stacks of weight away to the field here, but a big run is still not out of the question. Julie Johnston is three-pounds well in at the weights, and Thank You Next was impressive last time out. Both look worthy of a punt, but I'm going to side with course-winner PEROTTO.

Marcus Tregoning's charge finished third behind Qaader and Running Back on debut. He then started slowly in a three-runner maiden here over course-and-distance, before soon asserting and winning comfortably. The runner-up was deemed good enough to run in the Vintage Stakes earlier in the week, and Perotto looks well-treated running off 78.

Race 8 - Maiden Fillies' Stakes Tips

There's little to separate any of the more experienced fillies in this maiden, so I'm going to take a punt on William Haggas' debutant BEAUTIFUL NEWS.

By the great Shamardal, Beautiful News is the first foal out of Besharah, who Haggas trained to win the Princess Margaret and the Lowther Stakes as a juvenile. Both Shamardal and Besharah won first time out, and this doesn't look to be the strongest of maidens. A bold showing is expected.
