2020 Glorious Goodwood Day Three Tips

Race 1 - Provence Handicap Tips

I'm going to take an each-way punt on outsider SHOW ME SHOW ME in day three' opener. Richard Fahey's sprinter stayed on to finish a two-length third behind Liberty Beach in the Molecomb Stakes here last year.

His results this season so far have been fairly poor, but Paddy Mather's mount has dropped nine pounds down the weights since racing commenced, and first-time cheek-pieces could fire him up.

Race 2 - Unibet Handicap Tips

Bright Melody E/W1:45pm Unibet You're On Handicap (Class 2) 1m2fGET 9/1 HERE

Horses towards the upper-end of the weights have tended to prosper in this race in recent seasons. BRIGHT MELODY sits near the top of the ratings, but I think he's got an excellent chance here carrying 9-4.

Charlie Appleby's colt won on debut at Chelmsford in January. A poor start then hindered his challenge in the Group Three Classic Trial, and Bight Melody simply didn't see out 12 furlongs at Royal Ascot.

Buick's mount produced a much-improved display in the Listed Prix Ridgway last time out, losing out to an unbeaten rival by less than a length. William Buick has been riding brilliantly recently, and he can guide Bright Melody to victory.

Race 3 - Richmond Stakes Tips

I've backed Qaader on ever run of his career so far. I was hoping the greeness which plagued his run at Ascot would have been ironed out when he arrived at the July Meeting. As it was, Qaader looked even more unstable and novicey during running that day, and I'm not sure the track here at Goodwood will suit.

As a result, I'm going to hang my flag on YAZAMAN in this Group Two. William Haggas' charge has gone down twice to Tactical the last twice, but came out of both races with plenty of credit. Especially in the Windsor Castle Stakes, where Tom Marquand was squeezed out in the early stages but ran on well to finish second.

Haggas' stable could hardly be in better form, and Yazaman is drawn perfectly down the centre of the track. I think he'll take all the beating.

Race 4 - Gordon Stakes Tips

St Leger hopeful Al Aasy tackles four runners from the Epsom Derby in this Group Three. English King comfortably heads the market, but at their current odds, I'd rather side with MOGUL.

Like his full brother Japan, Mogul looked in desperate need of the run at Royal Ascot. Like the majority of the field, Ryan Moore arrowed Serpentine to bowl too far clear in the Derby, and his staying-on effort was only good enough for seventh.

Mogul still only finished less than a length behind English King at Epsom, and his breeding suggest he's only going to improve as the season unfolds. Mogul could be Aidan O'Brien's third winner in this high-quality race.

Race 6 - Gusbourne Handicap Tips

William Bligh3:45pm Gusbourne Nursery Handicap (Class 2) 7fGET 5/2 HERE

There may be 12 promising two-year-olds in this handicap, but it's all about WILLIAM BLIGH for me. Ralph Beckett's colt finished less than a length behind future Superlative Stakes winner, Master Of The Seas on his second start, before powering to an impressive maiden triumph at Haydock last time out.

Harry Bentley's mount was drawn in stall two at Haydock, and went on to make all along the rail and score a very comfortable victory. William Bligh is drawn in two again, so Bentley can employ similar tactics at Goodwood, and I expect the favourite to see them all off from the front.

Race 7 - Maiden Fillies' Stakes Tips

TEODOLINA got off to a terrible start on debut at Newmarket, but recover well and stayed on the finish third. Stepping up to seven furlongs should certainly suit this daughter of Kodiac, and Ryan Moore will be in the saddle once again, having taken the ride at Newmarket.

Race 8 - Tatler Handicap Tips

Golden Bear E/W4:55pm Tatler Nursery Handicap (Class 2) 5fGET 15/2 HERE
18+ only. Gambling can be addictive. Play responsibly.

There's a strong chance Winter Power may just blow this field out of the water. Yet, I'm inclined to take an each-way punt on GOLDEN BEAR. Charlie Fellowes mount has flashed plenty of early speed over six furlongs on both his starts, before fading to finish fourth and fifth. The form of both races looks solid, and I think this drop back in trip will really help.
