Saturday's ITV Racing Tips

Race 1 - Ascot - ITV Handicap Tips

Few trainers are in better form than Archie Watson at the moment, and Highland Dress has to be respected. One who I feel is better handicapped, though, is CHIL CHIL, who placed second behind a rival now rated 96 off this mark two weeks ago.

Oisin Murphy's mount has produced her best form on quick ground, and Chil Chil can continue her consistent form with another strong challenge in Saturday's opener.

I see no reason why you should side against VERACIOUS, who sits head and shoulders ahead of her rivals here, in terms of both quality and experience.

The former Falmouth Stakes winner may not have won first time out during her career, but she hasn't dropped down to Listed level since the autumn of 2017. Sir Michael Stoute will have his five-year-old primed and ready to go.

Race 3 - Ascot - Shergar Cup Celebration Handicap Tips

This looks a wide-open contest, so I'm inclined to take an each-way punt on WILD HOPE. Kevin Ryan's four-year-old finished just a length behind Jalaad when they met at Newcastle last season, and the gap between the two in the weights is seven pounds in Wild Hope's favour.

Josephine Gordon's mount produced a much-improved display to win at Doncaster last time out, and could build on that performance at Ascot.

Race 4 - Haydock - Rose Of Lancaster Stakes Tips

Global Giant and Zaaki look worthy of their spots at the head of the market. However, I'm inclined to take a chance on FOX TAL, who's more than capable of winning a race of this standard.

Andrew Balding's charge has pulled like a trojan on both his starts so far this season, and those antics proved costly as he faded badly in the closing stages.

Fox Tal powered to victory on quick ground at Doncaster last season, and finished fourth in the Champion Stakes, despite pulling hard that day too. If Rob Hornby can get Fox Tal to settle from what could be a more favourable wide draw, then Balding could claim his first victory in this Group Three.

Race 5 - Ascot - Millionaire Handicap Tips

Although he was well-beaten last time out, I think there's plenty of value to be found taking an each-way punt on HOLY KINGDOM. Tom Clover's four-year-old clearly didn't relish the testing ground that day. Previous results on much quicker surfaces offer plenty of encouragement and Holy Kingdom remains open to further improvement over staying distances.

Race 6 - Newmarket - Sweet Solera Stakes Tips

Course form has proven to be important when you look through the previous winners of this Group Three, so I'm inclined to take a punt on DANILOVA. Charlie Appleby's filly has made both her career starts on the July Course at Newmarket, first losing out to Wedding Date in a battle of the Godolphin horses, before an easy victory over this trip a week ago.

Wedding Date has since placed in a Group Three, and the third horse home behind Danilova that day has come out and won. Appleby and jockey William Buick, in particular, have been in sparkling form of late, and 5/1 looks a lovely price.

Race 7 - Ascot - Thames Hospice Handicap Tips

You could make a case for the majority of the runners in Saturday's closer. One who I feel has been overlooked is HYANNA, who won nicely on fast ground on her reappearance, before a six-length defeat in Listed company.

Eve Johnston Houghton's mare has won over this distance before and has landed a wide draw, which can be favourable over middle-distances at Ascot. Georgia Dobie takes five off her back, and Hyanna could be worthy of an each-way punt at 16s.
