ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 21st November

Race 1 - Betfair Racing Only Bettor Handicap Hurdle Tips

Kid Commando drops down in class after hacking up in a Listed Handicap at Ascot. Shakem Up'Arry looks well-handicapped and Arrivederci will be going for a hat-trick, having won at Wincanton and Wetherby either side of a summer break.

All three like to be up with the pace, and they're not the only ones who like to front-run. I can see them going along at a decent lick. The run-in at Haydock is very taxing, especially on soft ground, so I'd rather side with a strong stayer who will come from off the pace, and the one who ticks all the boxes is UMBRIGADO.

David Pipe's charge finished sixth in the Grade Three Handicap on this card last season, and ran a decent race in the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival, losing by just eight-lengths. Fergus Gillard, who's ridden five winners so far this season, takes a hugely-valuable seven-pounds off Umbrigado's back. He should run a solid race.

A fascinating little four-horse race to kick off the televised action at Ascot. Itchy Feet is a Grade One winner over this distance, but Olly Murphy's string are in woeful form at the moment. Black Corton has to be respected too, but he would ideally want a bit further than this.

Imperial Aura clearly has scope to progress further this season and Kim Bailey's charge is gaining two pounds from REAL STEEL. Even with that, the favourite has seven pounds to find on Paul Nicholls recruit on ratings, and I think Real Steel will make a winning debut here.

During his last season with Willie Mullins, Real Steel finished just three-lengths behind Min in the John Durkan, destroyed Footpad by 14-lengths at Thurles, and was running a blinder in the Gold Cup before running out of steam on the run to the line. If Real Steel was to reproduce any of those three performances, he'll win this comfortably.

Race 3 - Betfair Exchange Stayers' Handicap Hurdle Tips

I tipped The Jam Man before his 18-length triumph in the Troytown Handicap, as he was incredibly well-handicapped over fences. You can see why the money has come for Ronan McNally's star after he was confirmed in the field, but The Jam Man has been beaten off 139, 143 and 144 over hurdles, so I don't think he's particularly well-treated in this sphere.

I'm really keen on the chances of THIRD WIND, despite the fact he could only finish fifth on his reappearance at Newbury. The ground was good that day, and Tom O'Brien didn't go hell-for-leather to try and make up the deficit down the home straight.

When soft or heavy has appeared in the going description, Third Wind has won four of his six starts over hurdles. On his other two starts, he went down by a length to that talented Phoenix Way, and finished fourth in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham. Hughie Morrison's charge remains on the same mark he ran so well off at the Cheltenham Festival, and the conditions of this handicap should suit Third Wind perfectly.

Race 4 - Coral Hurdle Tips

If Paul Nicholls has managed to get LAURINA back on track, then she should take some beating, as she gains almost a stone on her two male counterparts.

Following a sparkling win over Minella Indo on her chasing debut at Gowran Park, Laurina was made favourite for the Arkle. She then bled after a poor performance at Leopardstown, and put in a shocking round of jumping in the Scilly Isles before being pulled up. Mullins then dropped her back to hurdles at Punchestown in February, where she was beaten three lengths back in third.

Considering she was nowhere near her best, that wasn't a terrible performance, as Elfile and Black Tears are decent performers. Laurina has had a win-op since moving to Ditcheat, and I'm expecting this former Grade One winner to return to winning ways on Saturday.

Paul Nicholls has decided to strike while the iron is hot and turn Magic Saint out again, just eight days after a strong victory at Cheltenham. Bryan Carver takes three-pounds off his back again, but Magic Saint is now up to a career-high mark of 159, and gives weight to several dangerous rivals.

The value bet here has to be his stablemate, CAPELAND, who bolted up to win this race by 12-lengths last season. Although he's seven-pounds higher in the handicap this year, Harry Cobden's mount carries just three-pounds more on his back. This looks an excellent opportunity for Capeland to claim back-to-back wins.

Race 7 - Stayers' Handicap Chase Tips

I really fancy an each-way punt on ALMINAR, for David Noonan and Nigel Hawke. Alminar was last seen running in the Amateur Jockeys Handicap at Cheltenham's Open Meeting, and may have finished better than third had he not made a mistake at the crucial second-last fence.

Alminar has won around left-handed, galloping tracks like Ffos Las and Chepstow, so he should take well to Haydock on his first start at the venue. Hawke's seven-year-old has run up to RPRs of 124 and 127 over fences recently, so should be very competitive off 118. A recent win-op should help too.

Race 8 - National Hunt Flat Race Tips

Kandoo Kid's half-sister has won a couple of hurdles races in France, and Paul Nicholls has done very well with Kapgrade geldings in recent years. Wraysford is a full-brother to Nicky Henderson's Call The Cops, who won the Pertemps on day three of the Cheltenham Festival and also managed to win on his bumper debut.

No Hubs No Hoobs and Hamilton's Fantasy hold appeal too, in what looks an extremely open bumper. I'm more inclined to side with one at an each-way price, so I'm going to take a punt on WONDERWALL for Richard Spencer.

By top sire Yeats, and a half-brother to Ballyneety, who finished third in a very good quality bumper in Ireland before winning on his first start over hurdles for Joseph O'Brien. Two of Spencer's five bumper runners in the last five years have managed to place. He could go well at a decent price.
