Friday's televised action focuses mainly on the opening day of the International Meeting at Cheltenham. Punters have several handicaps to sink their teeth into, a Cross Country Chase and the rearranged Peterborough Chase, which was due to be run at Huntingdon last Sunday.

We also have a handicap hurdle at Bangor to cover too, so let's dive straight into our best ITV Racing tips!

ITV Racing Tips - Friday 11th December

Race 1 - Mares' Handicap Chase Tips

Agent Valdez ran up to an RPR of 125 when sealing a 28-length win at Leicester last time out. Fergal O'Brien's mare is two-pounds well in at the weights, however, only two of the 13 runners managed to finish that Class Five Handicap, and Agent Valdez was comfortably beaten on her previous start in a mares' only race.

I'd rather take an each-way punt on BLACK TULIP, who finished third in this race in 2018 off a four-pounds higher mark. Henry Daly's eight-year-old ended her two-year wait for a first win over fences at Uttoxeter on her last start, and a little extra cut in the ground here won't bother her.

Race 2 - Peterborough Chase Tips

Nicky Henderson will fire two of his finest arrows at this Grade Two, with both Top Notch and Mister Fisher sitting prominently in the market. The bookies are finding it hard to size up this field, though, with six of the eight runners sitting between 4/1 and 13/2.

Read our guide to the 2020 Peterborough Chase to see which runner we fancy in this fascinating contest.

Race 3 - Handicap Hurdle Tips

After Bridget Andrews gave her a stone-cold ride to win cosily at Ascot, Harry Skelton takes over in the saddle of ROBIN GOLD. The runner-up that day, Midnightreflection has since come out and won by 14 lengths, boosting Robin Gold's win considerably. Skelton's mare will receive a stack of weight from three rivals who were beaten a combined 163-lengths on their last starts. I can't see past the market leader.

Race 4 - Unibet Handicap Chase Tips

On four of his last five starts in handicaps, Black Corton has been forced to carry top-weight and still run up to RPRs between 161 and 166. Paul Nicholls' charge was fancied for a Grade Two on his last start, and boasts winning form here at Cheltenham.

While he's greatly respected, Black Corton hasn't looked his usual self this season. Nicholls has seen this, and fitted cheek-pieces for the first time, which is unusual for a chaser who's already had 26 starts over fences.

In the form that he's in, and considering the soft ground may have gone against him, I don't mind taking Black Corton on, and COURT MAID is the one who stands out. Thomas Mullins' seven-year-old has won three of her four starts over fences, and travels to Cheltenham on the back of an emphatic win in the Porterstown Handicap on Hatton's Grace day at Fairyhouse.

Court Maid is due to go up to 152, but a five-pound penalty means she returns to Cheltenham four-pounds well-in at the weights. Mullins' mare has had one start at Cheltenham previously, losing out by 11-lengths in the 2019 Mares' Novices' Hurdle when carrying odds of 100-1 to post. There's no doubting she's a much better chaser than a hurdler, and seeing out this trip should be no bother at all.

Race 5 - Cross Country Handicap Chase Tips

Kingswell Theatre was my selection here last month, so I was delighted when Michael Scudamore's charge got the win, especially as I backed him at 33/1. Despite running off a five-pound lower mark, Tom Scudamore will have 21 extra pounds on his back this time around, which will make a massive difference.

While there are several more dependable options ahead of him in the market, I'm going to take a punt on Charlie Mann's newcomer, DEFI DES CARRES. During his time in France, this seven-year-old ran in seven Cross Country Chases, and managed to win on three occasions.

Defi Des Carres finishing just seven lengths adrift of Easysland over three miles last October, and went on to make all and win over a longer trip at Lyon Parilly. His two most recent runs haven't been great, but I'm hoping the move to Mann's yard may spark a revival, and French-bred horses have a strong record in Cross Country Handicaps here at Cheltenham.

Race 6 - Citipost Handicap Hurdle Tips

On The Blind Side is up five-pounds following that narrow Listed win that month, and Nicky Henderson's charge will have to give weight to the whole field. Unowhatimeanharry got the better of Mohaayed - who impressed on his first start over three miles - when they met at Aintree, and a win for Harry Fry's teenager would bring the house down at Cheltenham.

Kevin Brogan's claimer gives Fry's former Grade One winner a much better chance of winning Friday's final race. Yet, I still think I'd rather side with a younger rival, and I think it could be worth siding with BOYHOOD at a lengthy price.

Tom George's charge kicked off 2018 with a seven-length course-and-distance win here at Cheltenham. After a 320-day absence, Boyhood ran a blinder here again that year, finishing second to First Assignment in the Listed hurdle won by On The Blind Side in 2020.

Since then, Boyhood has experimented with chasing, and his form tailed off massively after beating future Midlands National winner, Truckers Lodge in a novice contest. There were, however, signs of encouragement on his reappearance over hurdles at Newton Abbot in October, and Boyhood returns to Cheltenham rated seven pounds lower than when he last ran here in the 2019 Pertemps Final.
