The Ebor Festival continues at York on Thursday afternoon. The 2024 renewal of the Yorkshire Oaks headlines the action on day two, with the Lowther Stakes and the Premier Yearling Stakes playing a supporting role.

Here are my best betting tips on day two of the Ebor Festival.

ITV Racing Tips - Thursday 22nd August

1:50pm York - Lowther Stakes Tips

Karl Burke is no stranger to success in the Lowther Stakes, and I expect this race has been the plan for MISS LAMAI (7/1) since her Listed win at Naas.

Clifford Lee's mount was backed into odds-on favouritism ahead of the Marwell Stakes. Miss Lamai travelled like the winner throughout that five furlong contest, before putting the race to bed with an impressive change of gear in the final furlong.

Miss Lamai has to reverse the Marygate form with Betty Clover, and find almost three lengths on Leovanni from their clash in the Queen Mary. However, this daughter of Mehmas is clearly improving and this new trip of six furlongs should be well within her compass.

2:25pm York - Premier Yearling Stakes Tips

Despite two slightly underwhelming performances, I'm keen to keep AN OUTLAW'S GRACE (4/1) on-side. Richard Hannon's colt finished a close fourth in the Prix Robert Papin last month, but struggled over an extended trip in the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood, where he was slowly away, stuck for room and could never get involved in the contest.

This represents a big drop in class compared to those contests. Richard Hannon's record in this contest is superb and, with Sean Levey riding at the Racing League, a certain Ryan Moore has been drafted in to take the ride.

3:00pm York - Clipper Handicap Tips

It usually pays to follow improving David O'Meara handicappers, especially when the trainer is in such good form. NEW IMAGE (7/1) claimed a deserved victory on his first try at a mile on Shergar Cup day two weeks ago, where he got up in the dying strides under a patient ride by Hayley Turner.

O'Meara's four-year-old is only three pounds higher for that success and Oisin Murphy has been booked to take the ride on Thursday. New Image looks well-placed to go in again.

At a much longer price, I fancy a punt on AUSTRIAN THEORY (40/1). Following a belated reappearance in the middle of June, Tim Easterby has run his recruit five times in the last eight weeks. Duran Fentiman's mount has run well in defeat on all of those outings, including in the last two fixtures of the Racing League and this former Group Three-placer is starting to look well-treated off this lowly mark of 85.

4:10pm York - Galtres Stakes Tips

Sea Just In Time bounced back to form by beating Beeley at Kempton two weeks ago and William Haggas' filly dominates this betting heat. Fellow three-year-old FAIRY GLEN (8/1) handed Beeley a more emphatic beating when they met at Kempton in July, and Simon & Ed Crisford's filly ran well on her turf debut at Newmarket earlier this month.

Harry Davies' mount looked a little at sea when Divina Grace and Place Of Safety set off for home in the Chalice Stakes, but the Crisford's will have been delighted to see their youngster fly home in the closing stages and finish a very close third. With that experience under her belt and William Buick in the saddle, I wouldn't be shocked if Fairy Glen turned the favourite over.
