For the fifth afternoon in a row, ITV Racing will be showing horse racing on their main channel. Four races will be shown live from the excellent card at Goodwood on Sunday afternoon, with Beverley also chipping in with a couple of competitive handicaps.

Here are my best betting tips at Goodwood and Beverley on Sunday.

ITV Racing Tips - Sunday 25th August

1:50pm Goodwood - Maiden Fillies' Stakes Tips

I'm going to take a chance on YAMAMAH (25/1), in the hope that she will handle what's likely to be testing ground at Goodwood. Ismail Mohammed's filly is very experienced, having run in two maidens and a Listed race out in the UAE over the winter, and once on British soil earlier this month.

Yamamah was always going to struggle against three well-bred colts at Windsor, but I thought Sean Levey's mount saw out ten furlongs well when finishing fourth. Her dam, who Mohammed trained, won her maiden on soft ground and experience can prove pivotal in treacherous conditions.

No bet for me here. Far too open for my liking.

2:25pm Goodwood - Raceday Positive Handicap Tips

Golden Mile winner, Toimy Son will carry top-weight having receieved a seven-pound rating hike for that excellent win at the Glorious meeting. David Menuisier's star does have several dangerous rivals to cope with, including GODWINSON (6/1), who William Haggas has been itching to get on soft ground.

Godwinson kicked off this season with a close second in the Spring Cup at Newbury. Tom Marquand's mount has since been comfortably beaten at Newbury and York, but Haggas has been waiting for the ground to soften before unleashing his four-year-old again and there's plenty to suggest that this mark of 91 is by no means Godwinson's ceiling.

2:40pm Beverley - Churchill Tyres Handicap Tips

STAY IN THE GAME (4/1) has got three course-and-distance winners to contend with here, but I was impressed by his three runs in maidens and fancy Jason Hart's mount could make a winning handicap debut.

John & Sean Quinn's three-year-old ran well in his first two starts last September, and went close on his reappearance here at Beverley back in April. Stay In The Game was touched off by the penalty-carrying Dambuster, who was handed a mark of 90 for that success. Hart's mount returns to the track running off an opening rating of 90 and any extra cut in the ground should suit.

3:00pm Goodwood - Raceday Special Handicap Tips

Sergeant Wilko was my biggest winner of the July Festival when he landed the bet365 Handicap, and the four-pound rise Kevin Ryan's star received for that comfortable victory seems lenient. That being said, I am weary of the soft-ground-loving TIRIAC (7/1), whose best performances have come on heavy ground.

Jack Channon's four-year-old has won twice already this season, and went on to clock career-best RPRs of 91 and 92 in subsequent appearances at York and Haydock. Tiriac remains on a workable mark and Channon's sprinter went very close on his only previous outing at this venue.

3:35pm Goodwood - Handicap Tips

Sunday's ITV action rounds off with an excellent seven-furlong handicap. At the prices, I'm going to chance my arm with EMBRACE (14/1) as she makes her second start for George Boughey.

Owen Burrows thought enough of this Lope De Vega filly to run her in the 1000 Guineas last season, having finished fourth in the Fred Darling on her reappearance. Embrace's best showing for Burrows came in a handicap at Newbury in September, where she travelled extremely well on heavy ground, but idled when she hit the front and allowed Pearle d'Or and Scholarship to come past.

On her debut for Boughey, Embrace didn't feature in a Listed race at Longchamp in April. She's been off the track since then, so Boughey's had plenty of time to work on his recruit. If ready to roll, Embrace could go well off this reduced mark of 88.
