Saturday's ITV Racing Tips

Race 1 - World Trophy Stakes Tips

Having been well beaten in this race 12 months ago, EQUILATERAL returns to Newbury with a point to prove. Charlie Hills' five-year-old has responded well to a winter gelding operation this season, winning out in Meydan and finishing second to Battaash at Royal Ascot.

James Doyle's mount traveled well in the City Walls Stakes at York, but ran into traffic problems at a crucial stage. A slow start ruined his chances from the get-go at the Curragh on Sunday, where Equilateral ran on well to finish a three-length sixth.

Hollie Doyle takes the ride this time around, and she could be the perfect jockey to help Equilateral rediscover his winning touch.

Race 2 - Doonside Cup Stakes Tips

Addeybb is clearly the class-act in this field, and will certainly take all the beating. William Haggas' star has to carry a Group One penalty, though, and may not be fully wound-up, with big targets in the UK and Australia coming up on the horizon.

The one who could take advantage is FOX CHAIRMAN, for Oisin Murphy and Andrew Balding. Although he's failed to win in four starts this season, Fox Chairman has maintained a high level of form. A little extra juice in the ground isn't a bother, and I fancy he could upset the hot-favourite.

Race 3 - Dubai Duty Free Handicap Tips

The two progessive three-year-olds at the head of the betting are hard to ignore. I, however, would rather take a chance on GOOD BIRTHDAY at an appealing each-way price.

Andrew Balding's charge has shown a resurgence in form in recent starts, placing fifth at Sandown before crossing the line third behind two progressive handicappers at Kempton last time out.

10-furlongs is undoubtedly his best trip and Good Birthday boasts some useful course form, having won a maiden here before finishing a length behind Headman in the 2019 London Gold Cup. He's more than capable of winning off his current mark.

Race 4 - Ayr Silver Cup Tips

The top 16 in this consolation race are seperated by just three pounds, making the race a bit of a minefield for punters. This won't be a big betting race for me, but I am tempted to have a punt on LORD OBERON.

Karl Burke's charge has run just once since June, finishing third behind Hyperfocus at Haydock. Lord Oberon was drawn on the wrong part of the track that day, and beat both Bielsa and Angel Alexander in his little group of three. Clifford Lee's mount is seven-pounds below his career-high mark, and could run a massive race.

On his day, ELARQAM is a horse with Group One-winning ability. Since pushing Lord North all the way to the line in the Brigadier Gerard, Mark Johnston's charge has produced two poor performances. Elarqam has been given two months off to freshen him up for an autumn campaign, and if he's back on song, he should take all the beating.

Race 6 - Firth Of Clyde Stakes Tips

Again, this won't be a big betting race for me. Low-grade pattern races for fillies are notoriously difficult to predict, especially when juveniles are involved.

One I feel has been a little overlooked is PERFECT TIMES, who's won twice on the all-weather this term, the second of those victories coming under a penalty. Mark Johnston's filly broke a blood vessel on the only occasion she lost, and looked very good value for her win when giving weight to the field last time out. She could go well at a decent price.

Race 7 - Mill Reef Stakes Tips

Fivethousandtoone heads the market ahead of Rhythm Master, and it's often wise to side with the fancied horses in the Mill Reef. The favourite was, however, comfortably beaten by BAHRAIN PRIDE when the duo made their debuts at Windsor.

Simon Crisford's youngster then claimed Listed glory at Ripon, surging clear of a rival rated 97 to score in impressive fashion. The Crisford's have been on fire the last two weeks or so, and this son of Kodiac clearly has bundles of ability. Bahrain Pride will be my selection.

Race 8 - Ayr Gold Cup Tips

Mr Lupton tops the market here, having landed a huge prize pot at the Curragh last week. Nahaarr and Stone Of Destiny are also fancied.
