Before Royal Ascot takes over the racing landscape next week, ITV Racing fans have got an interesting afternoon of action to enjoy on Saturday. Four races will be shown live from York on Grand Cup Stakes day, with Sandown and Chester chipping in with three quality races between them.

Here are my best betting tips for Saturday's ITV Races at York, Sandown and Chester.

ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 14th June

1:50pm York - Macmillan Handicap Tips

The high side of the track looks like the place to be in Saturday's opener and DILIGENT RESDEV (9/1), drawn widest of all in stall 15, has to have a good chance.

Joanna Mason's mount won a very good three-year-old handicap over this course-and-distance last season, before ending his campaign with a runaway victory in the Ayr Bronze Cup. Diligent Resdev ran well for third on his reappearance at Ayr, before hitting the front too soon in the Victoria Cup at Ascot, where he faded late on to finish fifth.

Mick and David Easterby's gelding found himself outpaced over six furlongs at Redcar last time out, so stepping back up in distance will suit. He's handicapped well enough to mount a challenge.

2:05pm Sandown - Handicap Tips

CLASSIC (7/2) was only beaten a neck by Two Tempting in this race 12 months ago and Richard Hannon's gelding returns to Sandown five pounds lower in the handicap, and with Ryan Moore in the saddle.

That runner-up effort was the best Classic could muster last term and Hannon decided to geld his star during the winter. Moore's mount returned to action with a fine third behind Ebt's Guard in the Spring Cup at Newbury, and Classic recovered well after a slow start to finish fourth behind My Cloud last time out, with Ebt's Guard and future winner, Boyfriend just ahead of him.

Despite two solid efforts since being gelded, the handicapper opted to drop Classic's mark by another pound down to 87. Hannon's five-year-old is a former winner at Sandown and this renewal of this one-mile handicap looks weaker than last year's.

2:25pm York - Queen Mother's Cup Handicap Tips

Jodie Townend and Adrian Keatley combined to win the Queen Mother's Cup with Kihavah two years ago and could repeat that feat with MAGHLAAK (9/2) on Saturday.

Keatley's sent his six-year-old over hurdles upon his arrival from Charlie Hills' yard. Maghlaak won on his third novice start at Wetherby, before following up at Catterick on New Years Day, and went on to place in some good races later in the season.

Maghlaak made his return to the turf here at York last month and produced a blinding performance, pushing Great Bedwyn within a neck in a first-time visor. Townend's mount is only three pounds higher in the handicap and drawn well in stall six. I'd be very surprised if Maghlaak didn't go off as the clear favourite.

3:20pm Chester - Handicap Tips

Nothing for me here either.

3:35pm York - Macmillan Sprint Handicap Tips

A really good race this, where chances can be given to plenty. Tuco Salamanca kept on really strongly to finish third at Goodwood last time out, despite clearly hating the track. Diligently performed well on his reappearance at Chester and Fast Track Harry is of interest on his handicap debut.

VEBLEN GOOD (20/1) will also be having his first handicap start at York this weekend. Karl Burke's colt ran twice over five furlongs as a juvenile, staying on to finish second to the Kullazain on debut at Sandown, before a narrow maiden success at Wolverhampton.

Clifford Lee's mount gave a lead to hot-favourite, Strong Warrior going into the bend on his reappearance at Pontefract and was forced wide to challenge, but saw out six furlongs strongly to finish just a head behind the 95-rated winner. This opening mark of 90 looks workable for Veblen Good and Lee should be also to ride the race as he likes from a central drawn in stall eight.
