Saturday is all about the Epsom Derby and 19 talented colts will enter the stalls at Epsom ahead of the 2025 renewal. Before we reach that historic Classic, ITV Racing will be showing two pattern races and two five-furlong sprint handicaps live from Epsom on Saturday afternoon.

Here are my best betting tips for Saturday's ITV Races at Epsom.

ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 7th June

1:00pm Epsom - Princess Elizabeth Stakes Tips

I was keen on CHIC COLOMBINE (11/1) going into this race 12 months ago. George Boughey's filly had a three-year-old allowance on her side, but her late charge from the rear came up a neck short of Breege - who boosted that form with a Group Two win against the colts later in the season.

Billy Loughnane's mount failed to perform on her final two starts of last season and has barely featured in either outing this term. Soft ground is, however, vital to Chic Colombine's chances and she proved in this race last year that, when conditions are in her favour, she's more than capable of mounting a challenge.

1:35pm Epsom - Diomed Stakes Tips

Another who is at their best on juicy ground is ICE MAX (12/1), who struggled on quicker going on his reappearance at Sandown. Karl Burke's charge won the Celebration Mile on soft ground at Goodwood last August and escapes a penalty for that Group Two success today.

Clifford Lee's mount will be making his debut around Epsom on Saturday, but strong performances around tracks like Catterick and Bath give me confidence that he will take to this circuit. Stall one isn't ideal, but if Ice Max can claim a prominent position along the rail and the gaps open at the right time, he's more than classy enough to get involved.

2:10pm Epsom - 3YO Dash Tips

Sprint handicaps really aren't my forte, so why there has to be two on Derby day is beyond me. At a wild price, I'll chance my arm with CONVO (40/1), who earned an opening mark of 95 having raced mostly in France as a juvenile last term.

Convo moved from Amy Murphy to Lemos De Souza's yard during the off-season, but didn't go well on his stable debut at Chester's May Festival, where a slow start from a low draw ended his chances from the get-go. Convo showed plenty of speed as a two-year-old and his sole victory came on heavy ground at Saint-Cloud. The track and ground conditions should suit. He could be a player off a much-reduced mark of 85.

2:45pm Epsom - Epsom Dash Tips

In Saturday's Dash, I'm going to place my faith in FAIR WIND (11/1), despite Owen Burrow's current drought.

David Probert's mount has shown flashes of real ability throughout his career, especially on juicy ground. Fair Wind took down Dream Composer - who went on to win this race 12 months ago - at Goodwood last May, before following up in a competitive handicap at Ascot later in the summer.

Fair Wind refused to race at Goodwood on his final start of 2024 and was barely mentioned from a wide draw on his return at Chester earlier this month. Burrows hasn't had a winner for almost a month, but his horses have mostly run well in defeat and success for Fair Wind in the Dash would be the ideal way to break that losing streak.
