The May Festival draws to a close at Chester on Friday, with the Chester Cup headlining an excellent final-day card. Along with five races live from Chester, ITV viewers will head to Ascot for an interesting Class 2 handicap.

Here are our best ITV Racing tips at Chester and Ascot.

ITV Racing Tips - Friday 12th May

Race 1 - Earl Grosvenor Handicap Tips

WOBWOBWOB (6/1) is one of the few runners in this handicap with no previous experience at Chester, but Adrian Keatley's front runner has landed a kind draw down in stall one and I fancy he'll relish the nature of this track.

Leigh Roche's mount has run well on both of his starts this season, finishing a close fourth in a red-hot Class 3 at Redcar, before following the incredibly well-handicapped Al Mubhir home at Leicester. Wobwobwob loves cut in the ground and this seven-and-a-half furlong trip should suit.

Race 2 - Peroni Nastro Azzurro Handicap Tips

A winner on soft ground on debut last May, SCHOLARSHIP (3/1) made a winning reappearance on a rainy day at Newbury last month. Clive Cox's charge underwent a gelding operation during the off-season and knuckled down well to see off Hectic and several other decent rivals.

Soft ground at Ascot will definitely suit and Scholarship has every chance of building on that Newbury victory.

Race 3 - Precision Facades Handicap Tips

Pride Of America E/W2:05pm Chester Precision Facades Handicap (Class 2) 1m2½fGET 7/1 HERE

PRIDE OF AMERICA (7/1) made a mockery of his mark when bolting up in a handicap at this meeting 12 months ago. Amy Murphy's six-year-old followed up on soft ground at Haydock and returned to action in January with an impressive victory at Kempton, where Hollie Doyle's mount ran up to an RPR of 110.

Murphy's six-year-old is two-from-two on his first start after wind-operations and Pride Of America has undergone another wind-op since his last outing at Saint-Cloud in March. If he breaks well from stall four, Doyle's mount could be hard to peg back.

Race 4 - Huxley Stakes Tips

Aidan O'Brien has had five runners in the Huxley Stakes - three have won and the other two have finished second. This year, Ireland's Champion Trainer will be represented by POINT LONSDALE (11/8) and this talented four-year-old is hard to oppose.

Having suffered a set-back after a run in the 2000 Guineas last year, Point Lonsdale made a winning return to action with a Group Three success at the Curragh last month. Ryan Moore's mount handled heavy ground well that day, picking up the front-running Visualisation in the final furlong before moving clear in the closing stages.

Visualisation has boosted that form by claiming a surprise Group Two triumph since and Point Lonsdale is expected to come on for that outing. He should take plenty of beating.

Race 6 - Darley Maiden Stakes Tips

I usually bank on experience in these maidens and it's no surprise to see Banderas, who's already raced three times, topping the market. That being said, I can't pass over the incredibly well-bred KING OF THE PLAINS (4/1) and he'll be my final selection.

Charlie Johnston's three-year-old is by Roaring Lion, who was a superstar for owners Qatar Racing. King Of The Plains' dam is Golden Lilac - a Galileo mare who won the French 1000 Guineas, the Prix de Diane and the Prix D'Ispahan during her stellar career. Johnston must have no doubts about this colt's stamina and Oisin Murphy takes the ride. King Of The Plains could make a winning debut.
