Saturday's ITV Racing will start early, due to the FA Cup Final kicking off at 4:30pm. ITV will show seven races live from across Newbury and Newmarket, with the 2025 Lockinge Stakes headlining an excellent afternoon of racing.

Here are my best betting tips for Saturday's ITV Races at Newbury and Newmarket.

A year on from his electrifying victory in the London Gold Cup, KING'S GAMBIT (5/2) returns to Newbury looking to make his breakthrough in pattern company.

Harry Charlton's star ran in several big races during the second half of last year. King's Gambit was beaten less than a length in the Hampton Court Stakes, was edged out of the York Stakes by Alflaila, and finished a half-length third behind Los Angeles and Illinois in the Great Voltiguer at York.

Wathnan Racing snapped up Charlton's four-year-old at the start of this year and King's Gambit ran well to finish fourth behind Rebel's Romance on his debut in those silks out in the UAE. Blinkers go on for his return to Britain and Ryan Moore deputises for the injury James Doyle.

1:05pm Newmarket - Handicap Tips

Over to Newmarket now, where WALEEFY (10/3) looks well-placed to hand William Haggas a third victory in the last five runnings of this handicap.

Haggas' four-year-old won decent handicaps on the July Course and at Doncaster last summer. Waleefy was then touched off by Lethal Levi in a valuable handicap at Newbury in August, and wasn't beaten far when third behind Lord Bertie in a decent Conditions Stakes at Ascot.

Waleefy was heavily backed before his reappearance at Goodwood, but found himself outpaced over that six furlongs trip and was well-beaten back in fourth. Stepping up to seven furlongs will certainly suit and this Night Of Thunder colt remains open to further improvement.

1:25pm Newbury - Carnarvon Stakes Tips

Given his incredible strike-rate in Britain this year, it's hard to side against Aidan O'Brien's favourite Ides Of March, who pushed Whistlejacket close as the pair made their reappearances at Navan. However, at the prices, I'm going to take a chance on the returning CABURN (16/1).

Jack Jones' youngster enjoyed the perfect start to his two-year-old season, winning at Brighton before a lucrative triumph in the Super Sprint here at Newbury. Caburn then kept on well to finish fifth in a top-quality renewal of the Gimcrack at York, before rounding his season off with a luckless effort in the 2YO Stakes at Doncaster, where he got no sort of run from a low draw.

Dylan Hogan's mount has some valuable course form to his name and Twilight Son's progeny often improve with age. Caburn could well be a Stakes-quality sprinter.

1:40pm Newmarket - JCB Handicap Tips

Nothing for me here.

2:00pm Newbury - London Gold Cup Tips

Nine of the last ten winners of this handicap have returned single-figure SPs, so those towards the head of the market have to be respected. NEBRAS (11/2) was tried at Group One level as a juvenile, and could be well up to carrying top-weight to victory in this lucrative contest.

John & Thady Gosden's colt went into the Futurity Trophy on the back of a solitary maiden win at Newmarket and found himself outclassed at Doncaster, finishing ten lengths behind Hotazhell in seventh. Hollie Doyle's mount suffered a shock defeat on his reappearance at Southwell, but improved upon that display with a runner-up finish to Alpine Trail in the Listed Newmarket Stakes two weeks ago.

Despite clocking an RPR of 100 that day, the handicapper dropped Nebras' official rating by two pounds to 97 for that runner-up effort. His half-sister, Nashwa improved steadily throughout her glittering three-year-old campaign and the Gosdens will have been pleased with a central draw in stall five.
