ITV Racing will be showing ten live races from across four tracks on Saturday afternoon. The bulk of the action comes from Haydock, where the Sandy Lane Stakes headlines an excellent card. We'll also enjoy two races apiece from Goodwood and Beverley, before ending with a trip to Ireland for the Irish 2000 Guineas.

Here are my best betting tips for Saturday's ITV Races at Haydock, Goodwood, Beverley and the Curragh.

ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 24th May

1:15pm Haydock - Hell Nook Handicap Tips

There seems to be a distinct lack of pace in Saturday's opener, so I'll be hoping to see Jason Hart give EMPIRESTATEOFMIND (12/1) a more confident ride. The Quinn's seven-year-old won well at York back in October, and runs this weekend off just a one-pound higher mark.

Empirestateofmind went close a couple of times on the all-weather during the winter, but a slow start on his reappearance at Doncaster saw him stuck in the pack for the majority of the contest. Hart has ridden this experienced handicapper prominently before and, for a horse who sees out a mile well, Empirestateofmind can produce a turn-of-foot when needed.

1:30pm Goodwood - Harroways Handicap Tips

Over to Goodwood now, where PRINCIPALITY (25/1) looks a little overpriced. This Calyx colt won his maiden here at Goodwood last term, and carried short priced into two pattern races on his final couple of starts for Richard Hannon.

Principality was very weak in the market ahead of his first start for Harry Eustace at Newmarket, but recovered from an awful start to finish seventh of 12 behind Invictus Gold. Kaiya Fraser's mount is proven around this tricky track and his breeding suggests that Principality should improve for this step up to seven furlongs.

1:50pm Haydock - Silver Bowl Handicap Tips

In contrast to the Hell Nook, a strong pace is all-but guaranteed in the second of Saturday's eight-furlong handicaps. That setup should suit TILTED KILT (20/1), and I'm hoping to see an improved performance from William Knight's gelding over this shorter distance.

A winner on debut at Kempton last year, Knight sent Tilted Kilt over to France a couple of times as a juvenile. Cieren Fallon's mount made good progress from the rear to finish second on his reappearance at Southwell, and wasn't beaten far when fifth in a good-quality renewal of the Esher Cup at Sandown.

Tilted Kilt was held up again, but didn't see out ten furlongs at Newcastle earlier this month. Returning to a mile will help and Knight's star certainly has the ability to outrun his odds.

2:10pm Beverley - Hilary Needler Trophy Tips

A tricky little renewal of the Hilary Needler. The three Nick Bradley's owned juveniles have all won from the front around Beverley this term, and Angel Numbers looked smart when scoring on debut at Chepstow.

I'll take a chance on MEELAF (15/2), following her victory at Musselburgh. Karl Burke's filly finished sixth in a tough race at Newmarket on debut, but showed an impressive turn-of-foot to see off two colts on her second start. Meelaf clearly improved for that debut on the Rowley Mile and could take another step forwards from a favourable low draw on Saturday.

2:25pm Haydock - Hedge Of Oak Stakes Tips

SECRET SATIRE (9/1) bounced back from an average reappearance last year, and Andrew Balding's star could repeat that trick on Saturday.

Having faded from the front at Sandown, Balding's filly ran out an impressive winner of the Musidora Stakes on her second outing of the season at York. Secret Satire pulled too hard when well-beaten in the Epsom Oaks and only ran once as a three-year-old, suffering a four-length defeat behind Cinderella's Dream after a troubled passage in the Belmont Oaks Invitational.

Rob Hornby's mount was beaten by that same rival on her return in the Dahlia Stakes, where Secret Satire faded having tried to make the running on the Rowley Mile. Secret Satire still managed to finish ahead of favourite, Running Lion that day and, hopefully, Hornby won't have to do the donkey work this time.

2:45pm Beverley - Two Year Old Trophy Tips

The unraced Naval Light tops the market for this valuable Conditions Stakes. He's been drawn in two, with the other debutante Straight Ahead on the rail in one, which might provide ICE COLD ALEX (9/1) with the opportunity to take the favourable inside berth from his place in stall three.

Ollie Pears' youngster made all to win on debut at Pontefract, battling on bravely to beat Hilary Needler contender, Saucy Jane by a length. If the two newcomers don't get off to a brilliant start, Ice Cold Alex has the chance to dictate again from the front, and a low draw can be a huge advantage on the sprint track at Beverley.

No bet for me in this one.

3:30pm Haydock - Temple Stakes Tips

He might be the oldest sprinter in this field, but I thought TWILIGHT CALLS (18/1) ran an encouraging race on his first start for Richard Spencer.

Formerly with Henry Candy, Twilight Calls was sold to Phil Cunningham after a run of 12 successive defeats. Jamie Spencer tried to switch left after a slow start on his stable debut at Newmarket, but was forced to switch again to try and make up ground, which Twilight Calls did, finishing fifth behind the impressive Rumstar in the Palace House Stakes.

Twilight Calls was only beaten a head in the 2022 renewal of the Temple Stakes, before going on to finish second at Royal Ascot. This experienced sprinter has plenty of back class and has always done his best work during the first half of a season.

3:40pm Curragh - Irish 2000 Guineas Tips
