ITV Racing viewers will take in the first Irish Classic of the season on Saturday, as several British contenders travel to the Curragh for the Irish 2000 Guineas. Before we head over to Ireland, viewers have got nine excellent races to enjoy from across Haydock, York and Goodwood on a bumper afternoon of racing.
C'MON KENNY relished fast ground when making a winning handicap debut at Sandown back in July 2021. Ian Williams' charge has only run twice since then, finishing third on his only start of last season, before getting stuck in the mud on his reappearance at Newbury in April.
William Buick's mount will be much happier back on quicker ground and there's plenty of evidence in C'Mon Kenny's breeding to suggest he'll be at his most effective over a mile-and-a-half.
The unbeaten Francesco Clemente makes his return to action in this Listed contest. Rab Havlin's mount is very strong at the head of the market, but bubbles can get burst very easily around this tricky track and I'm inclined to take the market leader on.
EL DRAMA hasn't run at Listed level since winning the 2021 Dee Stakes at Chester on just his fourth career start. Roger Varian's five-year-old finished second behind Baaeed in the Thoroughbred Stakes here at Goodwood that season, ran very well on both of his starts in an injury-hit campaign last term, before running twice out in Meydan back in March.
On his best form, El Drama is the class act in this field and he boasts valuable course form to further bolster his claims.
Since making her debut over two miles at Lingfield in March, CARZOLA has registered three straight victories, rising from 69 up to 91 in the handicap.
Ralph Beckett's filly scored on her first turf start at Doncaster last time out, winning without ever coming out of second gear. Frankie Dettori has picked up the ride on Saturday and I expect Carzola to maintain her winning form.
Tafreej appeals near the head of the betting and the progressive Yacowlef shouldn't be underestimated. However, I'm going to give another chance to CLASSIC, who hated the going when well-beaten in the Greenham Stakes on his three-year-old reappearance.
Richard Hannon's star was only beaten a neck by Dante winner The Foxes when they met here at Goodwood last season, and went on to claim an emphatic victory over some decent rivals at Newmarket. A double-figure draw isn't ideal, but Classic is a classy sort and this opening handicap mark of 91 looks lenient.
The Gosden's had a short-priced favourite turned over in this race 12 months ago, but that won't stop me from backing COVEY, who could be extremely well-treated off this opening mark of just 90.
Having finished second to Zoology on debut, Frankie Dettori's mount bolted up in a maiden on the Rowley Mile during the Craven Meeting. Covey won in the sort of style that you'd expect from a 1/16 favourite at Newcastle last time out, but this Frankel colt was still handed an RPR of 95 for that victory. He could be a pattern performer running in handicap company.

Four of the five horses who followed Regional home on Dante day will reoppose here, and it's no surprise to see runner-up Korker topping the market. Mondammej was dropped two pounds for a decent fourth-place finish that day, so he holds appeal, but I'm going to side against the Dante meeting form and back ZARZYNI at an each-way price.
Having reached a mark of 104 last season, David and Nicola Barron's sprinter had dropped down to 97 when he made his reappearance at Musselburgh in April. Zarzyni ran fairly well that day, staying on after a sluggish start to place fifth. The handicapper has dropped Jason Hart's mount by another pound for that effort and Zarzyni often goes all on the back of a break, so the 50-day gap between runs doesn't bother me.
If this had been LITTLE BIG BEAR'S first start of the season, then Aidan O'Brien's raider would be a long odds-on favourite. O'Brien's colt ended last season as the sport's highest-rated juvenile, thanks mainly to a stunning victory in the Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
As it is, Little Big Bear travels to Haydock on the back of a last-place finish in the 2000 Guineas. I, for one, was never convinced that this speedy colt would ever make a miler. Six furlongs on quick ground should be ideal. If Frankie Dettori's mount is back to anything near his best, then 13/8 could seem like an unbelievable price come 3:10pm on Saturday afternoon.
It's very hard to look beyond MIMIKYU, who looked like a filly going places when she bolted up in the Park Hill Stakes at Doncaster last September.
John and Thady Gosden's star carries a five-pound penalty for that Group Two success, but Mimikyu sits 15 pounds clear of her closest rival in the ratings and could be open to further improvement during her four-year-old campaign.
Since the great Dayjur won this race in 1990, only four three-year-olds have been able to follow his example. The Platinum Queen currently leads Dramatised in the betting, but the two three-year-old fillies have a number of talented older rivals to contend with and both will be making their reappearances.
TWILIGHT CALLS was only beaten a head by King's Lynn in this race 12 months ago. Henry Candy's star then went on to make his Group One debut in the King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot and Twilight Calls ran another blinder, winning the race for second behind the ultra-impressive Nature Strip.
Candy's star was a well-beaten favourite on his reappearance in the Palace House Stakes, but Twilight Calls was entitled to need that run having been off the track since the King's Stand. With the benefit of that outing under his belt and the return to favourably quick ground, Twilight Calls has every chance of going one better than 12 months ago.

Verdict
Mimikyu is our best bet from Saturday's ITV races. Little Big Bear is our next best, with Carzola competing the treble. El Drama is our best value bet at Goodwood.
