The Group Three Ormonde Stakes headlines the action on day two of Chester's May Festival. ITV Racing will be showing five races live on the second day at Chester on Thursday, plus a random mares' handicap hurdle from Huntingdon.

ITV Racing Tips - Thursday 8th May

1:30pm Chester - CAA Stellar Handicap Tips

All of the last ten winners of this handicap sprint were drawn in stall four or lower. David Egan will have been delighted, therefore, to see ANGEL SHARED (9/1) placed in stall four - the perfect position to execute her usual front-running tactics.

Steph Hollinshead's filly struck on her first two starts of last season, clocking an RPR of 92 when making all at Carlisle in May. Angel Shared didn't quite see out six furlongs on her next couple of starts, but ran well on her final three-year-old outing, placing second to Trilby back over the five at Haydock.

Angel Shared ran well for a long way on her reappearance at Beverley, fading back to third on the run to the line. The form of that handicap looks decent and Angel Shared remains on the same mark of 82. She must have a significant chance after a favourable draw.

1:45pm Huntingdon - Mares' Handicap Hurdle Tips

No bet for me here. Sticking to the flat for the foreseeable future.

2:00pm Chester - Maiden Stakes Tips

Three debutantes top the market for this maiden, and I rarely back horses on their first career start. One who does have a run under his belt is BRING IT ON (12/1) for Tom Dascombe, who still has an excellent strike rate at this meeting, despite relocating to Lambourn in 2022.

Pierre-Louis Jamin's mount bumped into a potentially classy rival on debut at Thirsk last month. Jan Steen was backed into 2/5 before the off and ran out a ready winner. Bring It On broke well and, despite running green, stuck to his task well to finish a fourth-length second.

This son of Dandy Man could take a significant step forwards for that first career start and Bring It On's experience makes his double-figure price appealing.

2:35pm Chester - Dee Stakes Tips

Based on his juvenile form alone, MOUNT KILIMANJARO (2/1) should take a whole heap of beating in this Epsom Derby Trial.

Aidan O'Brien's ran up behind Scorthy Champ and Field Of Gold on his first two starts, before striking in a valuable maiden on Arc weekend at Longchamp. Mount Kilimanjaro remained in France to take part in the Criterium International, where he was beaten into second by stablemate Twain, having been held up off the pace by Christophe Soumillon.

Ryan Moore's mount suffered a shock defeat as the 1/4 favourite on his reappearance at Dundalk in March, but I'm sure Aidan won't have dwelt on that loss for too long. By Siyouni out of a Galileo mare who placed in pattern races over middle distances, Mount Kilimanjaro should improve plenty for stepping up beyond the mile.

3:40pm Chester - Louise Keegan HandicapTips

A tricky race, but I fancy Tom Dascombe's HIGH ON HOPE (8/1) will give a good account of himself. Warren Fentiman's mount is still a maiden after eight career starts, but did go very close behind classy operators in a couple of maidens last term and finished second on his first two starts of this season.

Dascombe's youngster looked a little one-paced over a mile at Haydock last time out, where he was soundly beaten by Sex On Fire. However, I fancy this turning track will suit High On Hope better and he comes into this competitive handicap carrying a feather-weight. He's got a chance, despite a wide-ish draw.
