ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 17th July

Race 1 - bet365 Stakes Tips

Despite being drawn on the wrong side of the track, REAL WORLD produced a stunning performance to win the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot. Saeed bin Suroor's star powered clear in the closing stages to win by almost five lengths that day, stopping the clock in a really impressive time.

Real World bolted up by five lengths on debut over ten furlongs last season, and impressed over this distance out in Dubai during their World Cup Carnival. He should have the class to succeed at Listed level.

Race 2 - Summer Handicap Hurdle Tips

Ben Ffrench Davis takes a valuable seven pounds off the back of HOOPER, who travels to Market Rasen on the back of four-straight victories over hurdles.

Nicky Henderson's five-year-old beat Nordic Combined and Reserve Tank to collect a couple of Class Two prizes in the spring, and comfortably held a two-time winner at arm's length to win at Stratford 32 days ago. He remains open to improvement and could be the one to beat.

Race 3 - Bahrain Turf Series Handicap Tips

SLEEPING LION was my each-way selection in the Copper Horse Stakes at Ascot last time out, but a sluggish start scuppered his chances early that day and he crossed the line a well-beaten 12th.

Prior to that run, though, Roger Charlton's stayer had shown some excellent form, beating Postileo over two miles at Kempton. William Buick's mount has won here at Newbury in the past and offers plenty of each-way value at his current price.

Race 4 - Summer Plate Tips

Since joining Laura Morgan in February, FIRE AWAY has won five of his seven starts over both hurdles and fences, finishing second to Nicky Henderson runners on the other two occasions. Morgan's recruit bolted up off a mark of 98 on his stable debut, with his most recent win over the larger obstacles coming at Cartmel in May, where he ran out a convincing winner off a mark of 129.

Fire Away warmed up for a tilt at the Summer Plate with a maiden victory over hurdles at Worcester 12 days ago. Adam Wedge's mount has a career-high chasing mark of 137 to overcome, but he certainly looks capable of contending with 10-13 to shoulder.

Race 5 - Hackwood Stakes Tips

Method E/W3:00pm Newbury bet365 Hackwood Stakes (Group 3) 6fGET 12/1 HERE

A wide-open renewal of the Hackwood could go the way of METHOD, who bolted up to win the Rose Bowl Stakes here last year. Martyn Meade's star ran well to finish second behind Winter Power on his final two-year-old start, and shaped with promise when fifth from a tricky draw on his reappearance in a classy renewal of the Sandy Lane Stakes.

Meade then threw Method into the July Cup, but Sean Levey's mount really struggled. After a laboured start, Method pulled hard over the first three furlongs, and simply had nothing left in the closing stages. If you can ignore that run, then there's no reason why Method should be a 12/1 shot, and he looks the best value bet in this contest.

Race 6 - Handicap Hurdle Tips

This won't be a big betting race for me, but I am tempted to take a punt on ASK HENRY, who stayed on well for fourth behind some decent sorts at Uttoxeter last time out. The handicapper hasn't upped Ask Henry's rating, and he's a certain stayer over the distance.

Race 7 - Irish Oaks Tips

Race 8 - Super Sprint Stakes Tips

A field of talented two-year-olds will enter the stalls ahead of Saturday's big betting race, and a case can be made for many.
