Newmarket's Future Champions Festival wraps up on Saturday, with the Dewhurst Stakes and the historic Cesarewitch Handicap featuring on another excellent card. ITV Racing will be showing five races live from Newmarket on Saturday, as well as three competitive races from York.

Here are my best betting tips at Newmarket and York on Saturday.

ITV Racing Tips - Saturday 12th October

1:15pm Newmarket - Darley Stakes Tips

Karl Burke looks to have found the ideal opportunity for LIBERTY LANE (7/2) to build on that runaway Cambridgeshire success. Clifford Lee's mount turned that 31-runner handicap into a procession, hitting the front with two furlongs to travel before surging two-and-a-half lengths clear of the chasing pack.

That was Liberty Lane's second course-and-distance victory this term and there's enough juice in the ground at Newmarket for Burke's gelding to be at his best. The returning Peace Man could go forward and give Liberty Lane a nice toe into the contest, but if he doesn't, I wouldn't be worried about Lee's mount making the running. He's well up to winning at Group Three level.

1:30pm York - Rockingham Stakes Tips

I wanted to take Bolo Neighs on, as I felt he was flattered by the five-length winning margin at the Curragh. However, nothing is standing out to me in opposition, so I'll leave this one alone.

1:50pm Newmarket - Zetland Stakes Tips

Shackleton is greatly respected, but I'm happy to take the market leader on with the progressive DUNAMASE (9/2)

Having been snapped up by Wathnan Racing for 500,000g, John & Thady Gosden's colt raced lazily on debut at Sandown, keeping on to finish third behind an extremely impressive winner of Ralph Beckett's. Again, Dunamase showed signs of inexperience on his second start at Kempton last month, but still managed to claim a clear-cut victory over a subsequent winner and a decent colt of Godolphin's.

Although his full-brother, Age Of Kings was at his best over seven furlongs, the dam won the May Hill as a juvenile and went on to score three times over ten furlongs. There is stamina in Dunamase's pedigree and his action suggests that he'll relish some cut in the ground.

2:05pm York - Handicap Tips

Three-year-olds generally outperform their elders in this competitive handicap. The least-fancied three-year-old in the field is MAGICO (20/1), which I find a bit strange, considering how well he ran at Doncaster last time out.

A winner on soft ground as a juvenile, Marco Botti's youngster struggled on faster going during the early stages of this season. Following an impressive win on the all-weather at Kempton, Magico kept on well from the rear to finish third behind Grey Cuban at Doncaster, in a race that was dominated by those on the front end. This slight step up in trip should suit Harry Davies' mount, as will the ground conditions at York.

2:25pm Newmarket - Autumn Stakes Tips

From Charlie Appleby's last seven runners in this Group Three, he's had a third, a second and five winners, so it's clearly a race he likes to target. SILVER PEAK (10/3) will carry the Godolphin colours into this year's renewal and I fancy he'll take down the Ballydoyle favourite.

Appleby's colt finished fourth on debut at Kempton, where he was posted wide throughout and seemed to hang away from his rivals late on. William Buick's mount took a while to get rolling on his second outing at Doncaster, but found his stride late in that one-mile maiden and eventually won going away from the field.

The runner-up in that maiden has since bolted up by eight lengths and the ground this weekend will be similar to what Silver Peak scored on at Doncaster. He's the one that I'll be backing.

2:40pm York - Sprint Trophy Handicap Tips

In contrast to our previous race at York, it's been a while since a three-year-old won this heritage handicap. Despite that stat, I'm going to give another chance to SERGEANT WILKO (25/1), was drawn poorly on quick ground when well-beaten in the Ayr Gold Cup.

Prior to that limp showing, Kevin Ryan's three-year-old had racked up a hat-trick on softer ground, winning handicaps at both the July Festival and Glorious Goodwood. I like backing sprinters who will be up with the early speed in sprint handicap on the Knavesmire and a mark of 96 doesn't seem to be beyond him. 25/1 is a tasty each-way price.

3:35pm Newmarket - Cesarewitch Tips

With no-one standing out at lengthy prices, I'm left with no alternative but to back one of the fancied runners in Saturday's big handicap. My eyes are always drawn to Gavin Cromwell's name whenever he sends a horse over to the UK and SIXANDAHALF (8/1) should run another huge race with just 8-5 to shoulder.

Having progressed nicely on home soil, Sixandahalf travelled over to Newmarket in August and romped to victory in a competitive fillies' handicap over 14 furlongs. Robert Whearty then tracked The Euphrates into the Irish version of the Cesarewitch, but couldn't match Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old for finishing pace and was passed by A Piece Of Heaven in the closing stages.

That third-place finish was still another big step in the right direction for Cromwell's four-year-old, who returns to Newmarket running off just a one-pound higher mark. I'm expecting a good performance.
