LORD TENNYSON has flattered to decieve on both his starts so far this term. There were excuses at Royal Ascot, where he was denied a clear run on a couple of occasions, but last time out in the Summer Mile Stakes was fairly poor.

John Gosden's colt produced his best performance on firm ground earlier in the season. I think this drop back to seven furlongs will suit Lord Tennyson, and he looks to be the one to side with.

Race 2 - Thirsk - William Hill Handicap Tips

This looks to be a wide open race, so I'm going to take a punt on TANASOQ returning to top form. Paul Midgley's seven-year-old has barely been mentioned during any of his four starts this term. He has, however, dropped down to what looks a very appealing mark and he won well on his only previous start over course-and-distance in 2018.

Race 3 - Salisbury - Pam Bruford Memorial Handicap Tips

MR KIKI hasn't had much luck this term. First, Jason Watson lost his irons at Lingfield and soon eased his mount down. Last time at Newmarket, Rossa Ryan's saddle slipped soon after the start, and Mr Kiki had little chance from there.

Inbetween those unfortunate events, Ralph Beckett's charge stayed on gamely to win a high-quality three-year-old handicap under top weight at Yarmouth. Mr Kiki drops back to the minimum distance here, but he remains well-treated and could be tough to pass on the uphill climb to the line.

Race 4 - Thirsk - Extra Places Handicap Tips

MUSCIKA ended a 17-race losing streak in good style at York last time out, winning a very good quality Class 2 by just less than a length. Danny Tudhope's mount has won at this course in the past, and should have enough class to cope with top-weight. Another victory could be on the cards.

Race 5 - Salisbury - Fillies' Handicap Tips

She may be giving stacks of weight away to the field, but SALAYEL remains hard to oppose. Roger Varian's filly went down narrowly to Sir Busker at Royal Ascot, before finishing third - one place ahead of a future Group Three winner - in a Listed race last time out. The favourite should be hard to beat.

Race 6 - Curragh - Keeneland Phoenix Stakes Tips

While this doesn't seem like a vintage renewal of this Group One, it should still make fascinating viewing. While there seems to be little separating those at the head of the market, I feel ALOHA STAR has been severely underestimated and warrants backing at 16/1.

Fozzy Stack's juvenile was the 33/1 outsider when Frenetic and Mother Earth went head-to-head in the Airlie Stud Stakes, but stayed on well under pressure to snatch a shock Group Two win. Frenetic is fancied by some for the Nunthorpe and Mother Earth, a Group Three winner, finished two lengths behind Aloha Star.

Chris Hayes mount has Group Two-winning form and course form in the bag. 16/1 looks a fantastic each-way price.

Race 7 - Salisbury - Sovereign Stakes Tips

I've backed MOTAKHAYYEL on both his starts so far this term, and was rewarded handsomely at both Royal Ascot and the July Festival. A mile on firm ground should suit Jim Crowley's mount perfectly and all his best form has come on a straight mile. It's time for Motakhayyel to prove he's a Group-quality horse.

Race 8 - Curragh - Phoenix Sprint Stakes Tips

This looks like being a two-horse race, and I fancy MILLISLE will have a little too much speed for the valiant Speak In Colours. Jessica Harrington's filly benefitted from a change in tactics when bouncing back to top form at Naas last month, powering clear from her rivals after sitting prominently for much of the race.

Speak In Colours will go straight to the front. Shane Foley is positioned perfectly on his rival's shoulder to track the pace setters on Millisle, before displaying her superior turn-of-foot in the closing stages.
