Meydan Tips - Four tips on week four of the Dubai World Cup Carnival February 4th

I've taken a look through the full card and picked out four horses to back on week four of the Dubai World Cup Carnival.

New Science dominates this betting heat, having shown some strong form over seven furlongs during his juvenile campaign. Frankie Dettori returns to ride ISLAND FALCON, who defeated an odds-on favourite of Charlie Appleby's two weeks ago and could repeat that feat on Friday.

Saeed Bin Suroor's charge came up against 4/11 favourite New Kingdom in the UAE Derby Trial, seeing the favourite off quite comfortably with a well-timed challenge. Dropping back to a mile might not be ideal, but if they go quick up front then Island Falcon's stamina will come to the fore and New Science is yet to try his hand at eight furlongs.

PRINCE EIJI has never really lived up the astronomical price that Sheik Mohamed Obaid shelled out for him as a yearling. After winning on his racecourse debut, Andrea Atzeni's mount has suffered 13 straight defeats and was even gelded in 2020, to try and help him reach his full potential on the track.

On his first outing on the Dubai dirt back in December, Prince Eiji came incredily close to ending that losing streak, going down by a short-head to the fast-finishing Kafoo over seven furlongs. This step up in trip should definitely suit and, even with his poor wins to runs record, he looks to be the one to beat.

Doug O'Neill has flown HOT ROD CHARLIE (NAP) over from America to contest Round Two of the Al Maktoum Challenge and William Buick's mount is clearly going to be incredibly hard to beat.

Hot Rod Charlie placed in both the Kentucky Derby and the Belmont Stakes last season, before claiming a deserved win in the Pennsylvania Derby in September. O'Neill's star then took his chance in the Breeders' Cup Classic, but found himself a little outpaced on the speed track at Del Mar and could only finish fourth.

Those excellent performances at Grade One level have helped Hot Rod Charlie reach a rating of 122, some 14 pounds better than his closest rival in this race. Considering how superior he is to the opposition, 4/5 seems like an excellent price.

Summer Romance broke quickly and made all to win the Balanchine for Charlie Appleby 12 months ago. William Buick will look to employ similar tactics on CREATIVE FLAIR, a confirmed front-runner who brings some strong form to the table.

Creative Flair saw off Lilac Road from the front to win the Listed Abingdon Stakes at Newbury last season. Appleby's filly then placed third twice in two International Grade Threes, before finding 11 furlongs a bit of a stretch at Belmont in September.

Buick's mount is one of the few runners in this race to have won over further than a mile and she's sure to turn this Grade Two into a stern test of stamina. Creative Flair looks to be the most dependable option.
