Champ beat Paisley Park in the Long Distance Hurdle
Jet Powered, Stay Away Fay and Paint The Dream claimed ITV victories

National Hunt racing enthusiasts applauded two classy ten-year-olds following today's Long Distance Hurdle. Jonjo O'Neill Jnr set some fast fractions aboard the well-backed Champ. Paisley Park took aim at the leader jumping the second-last, but a couple of poor jumps from the former winner allowed Champ some breathing room and Nicky Henderson's star held on to win.

Champ and Paisley Park will renew their rivalry in the Long Walk Hurdle at Ascot next month. Unibet cut Champ into 20s from 33/1 in their betting for the 2023 Stayers' Hurdle, with Paisley Park also getting cut into 25/1.

We saw two mightly impressive novice hurdle performances today. Nicky Henderson's Jet Powered thrashed another expensive purchase, Ittack Blue to win the opening two mile maiden. Paul Nicholls' Stay Away Fay then ground out a debut victory in the two-and-a-half-mile novice hurdle.

Jet Powered was immediately cut into 5/1 second favouritism for the 2023 Supreme Novices' Hurdle by bet365. Bet365 also handed Jet Powered quotes of 10/1 for the Ballymore Novices' Hurdle, with Stay Away Fay entering that betting market at 25/1.

Sebastopol caused a shock in the Berkshire Novices' Chase, where Tom Lacey's 22/1 outsider ran down odds-on favourite Stage Star to claim a comfortable Grade Two win. Paint The Dream then carried a top weight of 12-00 to victory in the Coral Bet Bundles Handicap Chase.

Frere D'Armes made it two from two over fences by winning the second race on the card. Warren Greatrex's return to form continued in the final ITV contest, where Abuffalosoldier took down Steal A March in the three-mile handicap hurdle.
