November Meeting Day One Tips - Cheltenham tips on Friday 13th November

Race 1 - Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle Tips

TANGO BOY has so far failed to win in three starts over hurdles, finishing third over two miles on his jumping debut, before a pair of runner-up finishes at the start of this year. At Doncaster last time out, Neil Mulholland's charge was still on the bridle approaching the last, but couldn't find an extra gear over that three-mile trip.

I'm confident that there's more to come from this seven-year-old. Harry Reed has won with three of his last nine rides, and has experienced winning around Cheltenham before. I think he'll go really well.

Race 2 - Mucking Brilliant Paddy Power Handicap Chase Tips

Beat The Judge caught the eye when finishing behind Rouge Vif here at the Showcase Meeting, and Gary Moore's charge has to be in with a big chance running off the same mark. That being said, MAGIC SAINT is the clear class-angle here, and I think he'll be hard to beat back down over two miles.

Paul Nicholls has tried Magic Saint over two-and-a-half miles three times in the last year. On all three occasions, Harry Cobden's mount has jumped and traveled well, but hasn't found anything in the closing stages. Over the minimum distance, Magic Saint is very effective and open to further improvement at the age of just six.

Bryan Carver reduces the topweight's burden to 11-9, and he jumped around Cheltenham nicely twice last season in bigger handicaps than this. Magic Saint will take all the beating.

Race 3 - SSS Super Alloys Supports Racing Welfare Novices' Chase Tips

PROTEKTORAT may have jumped out to his left on occasion up at Carlisle, but I was so impressed with the way he handled himself on his first start over fences, over a two-mile trip which I feared might be on the sharp side.

Dan Skelton's five-year-old boasts some strong form over course-and-distance. He's gaining three-pounds on Southfield Stone at the weights, and Mossy Fen has some questions to answer after a poor jumping display here behind Galvin last month. Protektorat is very hard to oppose.

Race 4 - Cross Country Handicap Chase Tips

Tiger Roll squares off against Easysland again, having lost out to his French rival at the Festival back in March. Anyone expecting a titanic battle may be sorely disappointed. Gordon Elliott will have both eyes fixed on March, and Tiger Roll has to give four pounds to a horse who beat him by 17-lengths when they last met.

I'm fully expecting Easysland to win. Yet, with three paid places up for grabs and a strong chance Tiger Roll may not even place, I'm going to back KINGSWELL THEATRE each-way at 33/1.

Michael Scudamore's eleven-year-old won this in 2017, and was backed into favouritism for last year's renewal, where he could only finish fifth with 11-2 on his back. Kingswell Theatre only has 10-00 to shoulder today, and he can use his experience of this Cross Country track to run his way into the places.

Race 5 - Hyde Novices' Hurdle Tips

I was on DOES HE KNOW at the Showcase Meeting last month, and was delighted to see Kim Bailey's charge get the job done, winning by almost five lengths.

Does He Know beat three rivals rated above 135 that day, and seemed to have plenty of places where he could improve. The highest-rated rival he faces on Friday carries an official mark of 130, so I don't think David Bass' mount will have any trouble following up. He should be odds-on.

A very tricky way to end our November Meeting day one tips, but I'm tempted to take a punt on LIVELY CITIZEN, who can be found three names from the bottom of the betting. David Jeffrey's five-year-old is still searching for his five win over hurdles, and could only finish fifth on his handicap debut at Sedgefield in September.

All of his runs over hurdles have come over two-and-a-half miles, and he hasn't really seen the trip out all that well on any of his starts this summer. Lively Citizen has shown signs of ability behind useful sorts like Third Time Lucki and Miss Farage during his short career, and I'm hoping this drop in trip and a low weight could spark a career-best effort.
