Sandown's popular Coral-Eclipse Stakes meeting kicks off on Friday, where three lucrative Listed races feature on the card.

Two-year-olds will kick off the card in the Dragon Stakes, before stayers take center-stage in the Coral Marathon. The main event on Friday's card is the Gala Stakes, where former Champions Stakes winner Addeybb tops the current betting.

Here are our tips for the three Listed races at Sandown on Friday.

Sandown Tips - Friday 1st July

Race 1 - Dragon Stakes Tips

The best-backed winner at Royal Ascot this year was Aidan O'Brien's Little Big Bear, who was slashed into 6/5 favouritism before his victory in the Windsor Castle Stakes. Second that day was ROCKET RODNEY, who scooted past Eddie's Boy to lay down a stiff challenge to the favourite, losing out by just a neck.

George Scott's juvenile went into Ascot on the back of a hugely impressive victory at Goodwood, where he strode clear along the rail to win by four lengths. That Windsor Castle second is easily the best piece of form on offer here and I'm not going to side against the market leader.

Race 2 - Coral Marathon Tips

ALERTA ROJA made the most of his three-year-old allowance to register a career-best effort in last year's Doncaster Cup, finishing second to Stradivarius when getting more than a stone from his elders.

Sir Mark Prescott's charge progressed quickly when stepped up in trip last season and there were excuses for his disappointing run out in Germany, where he seemed to lose his action turning for home and never managed to regain his rhythm. Luke Morris' charge will be getting weight from his older rivals again and comes into the Marathon fresh, whereas most of his rivals endured hard races at Royal Ascot or here at Sandown last time out.

Race 5 - Gala Stakes Tips

Addeybb has slipped seven pounds down the weights since last autumn. William Haggas' eight-year-old couldn't sustain his gallop when attempting to make all here in the Brigadier Gerard Stakes and he'll have a big target on his back if he tries to front-run again. Addeybb is still miles clear of the field on paper, but I feel he's worth taking on.

REGAL REALITY won the 2019 renewal of the Brigadier Gerard Stakes here at Sandown Park and ran with great credit in the 2019 and 2020 renewals of the Coral-Eclipse. Sir Michael Stoute's seven-year-old clearly retains much of his old ability, having been beaten just a nose in a Listed contest at Lingfield in December, before returning to action with a fast-finishing fourth after hitting traffic in the Wolferton at Royal Ascot. At 5/1, he represents plenty of value.
