The fifth and final card at Glorious Goodwood is headlined by one of the biggest betting races of the season, the Stewards' Cup. This heritage handicap was first held at Goodwood back in 1840 and 28 top-quality sprinters will enter the stalls ahead of this year's renewal.

I've taken a look through the final field for the Steward's Cup and highlighted some key recurring trends, before picking out our best betting tips.

2024 Stewards' Cup Ante-Post Tip - Lethal Levi

At the ante-post stage, I put LETHAL LEVI (10/1) up at 16/1 and Karl Burke's sprinter remains my main selection.

Leth Levi endured a winless campaign in 2023 but ended that losing streak in May, as Clifford Lee's mount ran away with the valuable World Pool Handicap at Newbury. Clifford Lee's mount has run well in defeat twice since then, finishing fourth in the Wokingham - having looked a little lonely when he hit the front - before a front-running second to Aalto in the Bunbury Cup at Newmarket.

Despite that runner-up effort, Burke's charge has never looked a convincing stayer over seven. Six furlongs on fast ground are Lethal Levi's ideal conditions and having another fast starter in Mr Wagyu next to him in stall seven should help.

2024 Stewards' Cup Tip 2 - Dark Thirty

Lethal Levi and Mr Wagyu are the most likely pacemakers on the near side of the track. Apollo One and Get It are two of the only recognised front-runners on the high side, and they've been drawn closest to the rail in stalls 27 and 28, so the field will likely split into two separate groups.

Another who likes to go forward early is DARK THIRTY (20/1), whose most recent start over six furlongs resulted in an impressive handicap win at Newmarket during the Craven Meeting.

Richard Hannon's four-year-old then finished a close third behind Noble Dynasty over seven furlongs. His last three appearances have resulted in lengthy defeats, but Dark Thirty didn't take to the track on his Epsom debut in May and wasn't helped by the draw in either the Buckingham Palace Stakes or the Bunbury Cup last time out.

Dark Thirty has done most of his racing over seven furlongs, but a swift six seems to suit him better. Sean Levey might have to decide which side of the track to race on from stall 19, but if Dark Thirty pings the lids again and gets into a good rhythm, he's more than capable of sustaining a challenge.
