Dettori 2/1 to bow out at Royal Ascot as Top Jockey

Bookmakers Ladbrokes make Frankie Dettori their 2/1 second favourite to be crowned top jockey at the end of what will be the legendary jockey's final Royal Ascot meeting.
Frankie Dettori is the winning-most jockey in the history of Royal Ascot, having ridden 77 winners at this famous meeting. Frankie's first victory came in the Queen Anne Stakes back in 1990, with his first Group One winner coming two years later in the 1992 Ascot Gold Cup.
In 1997, Dettori made front-page news at Royal Ascot, when he became the first jockey to ride the winner of all seven races on a single racecard.
This year's meeting will be Dettori's final visit to Royal Ascot. The 52-year-old plans to retire from riding at the end of the season and Frankie is sure to pick up plenty of big rides during his final week riding in-front of Royalty.
Ladbrokes opened their Leading Jockey at Royal Ascot betting this week, listing Dettori as their 2/1 second-favourite behind the market-leading Ryan Moore.
“Ryan Moore and Aidan O’Brien’s formidable partnership is expected to rise to the top for another year at Royal Ascot." Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said.
"The duo claimed the honours at last year’s royal meeting and the pair dominate the betting once again. However, punters are likely to ignore the odds and go with their hearts as favourite jockey Frankie Dettori rides at the royal meeting for the last time.”
Ryan Moore is as short as 5/4 in the betting, which is understandable, given his partnership with Aidan O'Brien and his position as Sir Michael Stoute's first-choice jockey. Godolphin's number one rider, William Buick sits third in the betting, with Oisin Murphy a 10/1 fourth-favourite.
