Four Group One winners clashed in the main event on day two of Royal Ascot, the Prince Of Wales's Stakes.
Luxembourg held off Bay Bridge to win the Tattersalls Gold Cup last time out and Aidan O'Brien's runner was backed into clear favouritism before the off. Bay Bridge renewed rivalries with the favourite at Royal Ascot. Former Epsom Derby winner, Adayar and William Haggas' My Prospero - both beaten by Bay Bridge in last season's Champion Stakes - also featured in the field.
John and Thady Gosden were represented by Mostahdaf. The betting was rounded off by US raider Classic Causeway, who entered the stalls as an unfancied 80/1 outsider.

William Buick had to roust Adayar along as soon as the stalls opened. Ryan Moore took Luxembourg straight to the front, where he was joined by Classic Causeway. My Prospero ran keen early in third. Adayar had to settle for fourth, with Bay Bridge and Mostadahf held up at the rear.
Moore set fairly steady fractions at the front. Turning for home, Luxembourg was asked to win his race, a move that forced William Buick and Tom Marquand to get to work.
Suddenly, the eyes were drawn to Mostahdaf, who swept into contention around the outside of the field and took off under Jim Crowley. In the blink of an eye, Mostahdaf sprinted into a four length lead and Crowley saluted the crowd as he crossed the line an impressive winner.
Luxembourg held on along the rail to finish second ahead of Adayar. My Prospero and Bay Bridge barely landed a blow. Classic Causeway trailed home last.
