The only Group One race staged on day two at Royal Ascot is the Prince Of Wales's Stakes. This historic contest was first held at the Royal meeting in 1862 and a classy field will assemble for this year's renewal.

Wednesday's feature at Royal Ascot is a truly must-see event. Four horses rated in excess of 120 will lock horns and the connections of all four will quietly fancy their chances.

Bay Bridge beat Adayar and My Prospero when the three met in last season's Champion Stakes. Sir Michael Stoute's star has run well twice in defeat since then and the slight softening of the ground at Ascot will do his chances no harm.

Adayar made a winning return to action at Newmarket this term and he too will enjoy softer ground conditions. My Prospero is the least exposed of the four leading contenders and he too boasts winning form on ground similar to what he'll face on Wednesday.

I've come down on the side of LUXEMBOURG, who held off Bay Bridge to win the Tattersalls Gold Cup last time out. Aidan O'Brien's star had clearly improved massively for his limp reappearance at the Curragh. Although Bay Bridge was boxed in on the rail for much of that contest, Stoute's raider didn't make much progress once he hit open air and Luxembourg was good value for his half-length victory.

Ryan Moore's mount showed an excellent attitude that day, just as he did when winning the Irish Champion Stakes at Leopardstown back in September. Moore judged his fractions perfectly from the front at the Curragh and he might have to employ similar tactics at Ascot, after Luxembourg was drawn on the rail in stall one.
