Chaos reigned on the morning of day four of Royal Ascot, as a deluge of rain softened the ground from good-to-firm to heavy within the space of 12 hours. After a morning of headaches and inspections, it was decided that today's card would indeed go ahead.

There was more controversy after the first Group One on the card, the Commonwealth Cup. Archie Watson thought he'd landed his first Group One as a trainer when Dragon Symbol edged out Campanelle, only for the stewards to decide Oisin Murphy's mount had impeded Wesley Ward's filly as he drifted across the track, and the top two placings were reversed.

Murphy bounced back in the very next race, guiding Alcohol Free to a fantastic victory in the Coronation Stakes. The Champion Jockey later struck in the Duke Of Edinburgh Stakes, scoring on Quickthorn for trainer Hughie Morrison.

Andrew Balding celebrated a double on the day, with Sandrine winning the Albany Stakes ahead of Alcohol Free's Group One triumph. William Haggas' Alenquer continued his progression with a strong victory in the King Edward VII Stakes, with Create Belief and Significantly scoring in the two remaining handicaps.

We tipped up a further three winners on day four, as Campanelle, Quickthorn and Significantly all struck. Get our through-the-card tips for day five at Royal Ascot here.
