We bring you the early betting markets for the eight major Group One races taking place during Royal Ascot from Tuesday 16th June.

Royal Ascot, one of the most popular sporting events in Britain, is almost upon us. Sadly, the COVID-19 pandemic means the Royal Family, and any other racing fans hoping to be in attendance next week, will not be permitted entry through Ascot's famous gates. There is, however, be plenty of action on the track for punters to sink their teeth.

There will be handicaps and pattern races galore during the 2020 Royal Ascot meeting. Eight of the most prestigious Group Ones in the sport will be up for grabs too. The order in which they traditionally appear during Royal Ascot has changed in 2020, but let’s take a look through the Group One betting markets to see who’s been popular with the ante-post bettors.

Circus Maximus was victorious on day one of Royal Ascot last year, beating Too Darn Hot in the St James's Palace Stakes, he's the hot-favourite to claim a second Group One at Ascot in the Queen Anne Stakes.

King Of Change remains the favourite with some firms, despite the fact Richard Hannon said he won't be going to Ascot today.

Benbatl and Persian King are up next, followed by Charlie Appleby's Quorto, who missed his entire three-year-old campaign through injury. Last year's surprise winner, Lord Glitters is a 16/1 shot to retain his crown in 2020.

Battaash
has been the beaten favourite in the King's Stand Stakes the last two years, and Charlie Hills' star sprinter will return to Ascot for a third crack at this prize in 2020.

Irish trainer, Dennis Hogan looks like he'll have two arrows to fire at the favourite, with Sceptical and Make A Challenge both fancied in some corners.

Shock Prix l'Abbaye winner, Glass Slippers splits the hogan duo in the betting, with last year's Norfolk Stakes champion, A'Ali a little further down the list.

Hot-favourite for this year's Prince Of Wales's Stakes is Japan, who followed up a sparkling victory in the King Edward VII Stakes here at Ascot with Group One wins in the Grand Prix de Paris and the Juddmonte International.

Barney Roy sits second in the betting, closely followed by Godolphin stablemate Ghaiyyath, who was last seen running away with the Coronation Cup at Newmarket.

Roger Charlton's Headman, who claimed Group Two glory out in France last season, is the only other entrant sitting on a single-figure price.

Stradivarius
will bid to claim a historic hat-trick of Royal Ascot Gold Cup wins, having landed Ascot's most prestigious prize in 2018 and '19.

John Gosden looked on as his star's incredible unbeaten run was ended by Kew Gardens on Champions Day, and Aidan O'Brien's Classic winner will lock horns with Stradivarius again at Royal Ascot.

Prix Royal-Oak winner, Technician could have his first crack at Stradivarius at Ascot. Dee Ex Bee and Cross Counter, who finished third and fourth respectively in last year's renewal, could also return to Ascot.

Pierre Lapin
ended his juvenile campaign with a smart victory in the Mill Reef Stakes, and Roger Varian's unbeaten youngster will be looking to defend his unbeaten record in the 2020 Commonwealth Cup.

Two French raiders, Earthlight and Wooded sit closest to the market leader, with another International entrant, Wesley Ward's Kimari coming in for support in recent weeks.

Clive Cox's Golden Horde could renew rivalries with Earthlight, having finished a neck behind his rival in the Middle Park Stakes. Millisle could drop back to sprint distance too, having failed to get the trip in the 1000 Guineas.

KAMEKO
Wiichita (centre) and Pinatubo (right) finishing behind Kameko in the 2000 Guineas.

2020 Coronation Stakes Odds

No Odds Available

Although there are no odds available yet for the Coronation Stakes, we can hazzard a guess as to which horses may head the betting.

1000 Guineas winner, Love will probably be stepped up in trip, but Newmarket runner-up, Cloak Of Spirits could take her chance at Ascot. As could Final Song, who was a 100/1 shot when she finished fourth at Newmarket last week.

Pinatubo's
couldn't extend his unbeaten run in the 2000 Guineas, finishing third as Kameko claimed the first Classic of the new season.

Aidan O'Brien's Wichita ran a cracker under Frankie Dettori to finish third, and he sits alongside Pinatubo at the head of the market for the 2020 St James's Palace Stakes.

Palace Pier holds a short price for Royal Ascot, but the Epsom Derby is on his agenda. Threat, Arizona and Positive seem much more likely runners in this historic race.

Victories in the Sandy Lanes Stakes and the Sprint Cup at Haydock helped Hello Youmzain leap to the head of the sprinting ranks in 2019, and Kevin Ryan's charge could carry the tag of favouritism into the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

Hot on his coattails at Space Blues and Sceptical, who both secured impressive victories in Ascot Trials earlier in the season.

One Master, who was narrowly beaten in the Queen Anne Stakes in 2019, could drop back to six furlongs. As could Cape Byron, who won the Sandringham Handicap 12 months ago.
