When is Royal Ascot 2021?

Royal Ascot usually takes place during the middle week of June. In 2021, Royal Ascot will start on Tuesday 15th June, ending on Saturday 19th June.

What is Royal Ascot?

Royal Ascot is one of the most famous sporting events in Britain. The history of Royal Ascot dates back to the mid-1700s, and it's called "Royal" Ascot because members of the Royal Family - including the Queen - are in attendance during the meeting.

Where is Royal Ascot run?

Royal Ascot takes place at Ascot racecourse. This famous dual-purpose course is one of the oldest in the sport, and is situated in Berkshire, England.

What races are run during Royal Ascot?

Over the five days, eight Group One prizes will be handed out. The Royal Ascot Gold Cup is arguably the most famous race at the meeting, along with the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and the Prince Of Wales's Stakes.
The Queen Anne Stakes, Kings Stakes Stakes and the St James's Palace Stakes are run on day one. The Coronation Stakes and the youngest of the eight Group Ones, the Commonwealth Cup take place on day four of Royal Ascot.

Which horses will run at Royal Ascot 2021?

All eyes will be on Stradivarius, once again, at Royal Ascot. John Gosden's star stayer has won the Ascot Gold Cup for the last three years on the bounce, and will attempt to become the first horse to ever win this famous race on four occasions in 2021.

Another star name who could feature at Ascot is Battaash. Charlie Hills' sprinter finally won the King's Stand Stakes in 2020, and is likely to return in 2021 to defend his crown.
