The Coral-Eclipse Stakes headlined proceedings at Sandown today. Four horses contested the 2021 renewal of that historic race, and it was Aidan O'Brien's three-year-old, St Mark's Basilica who powered to an impressive win, his third Group One victory in a row.

The Juddmonte International Stakes could be next on the agenda for St Mark's Basilica, and William Hill was quick to cut O'Brien's star into 7/4 favouritism for that race during the Ebor Festival.

Came From The Dark continued his rise to prominence in the sprinting ranks with a snug victory in the Coral Charge. Frankie Dettori rode Magical Morning to victory in the Coral Challenge Handicap, before the well-backed Auria scored in the Coral Distaff.

There was a controversial dead-heat in the opener at Sandown, as Hurricane Ivor and Phoenix Star were adjudged to have hit the line at the same time. Makram and Farasi Lane secured handicap wins later on the card, before The Queen's runner Wink Of An Eye claimed victory in the final race of the day.
