Viewers were treated to a magnificent day of racing at Sandown on Tingle Creek Day. All the talk surrounded Shishkin and Greaneteen ahead of the main event, but it was Alan King's Edwardstone who grabbed the headlines with a stunning nine-length success.

Edwardstone was immediately cut into 4/1 second-favouritism for the 2023 Champion Chase by Boylesports. Nicky Henderson said after the race that Shishkin - who looked rusty back in third - would now be stepped up in trip, and Boylesports slashed the two-time Cheltenham Festival winner into 6/1 for the 2023 Ryanair.

Shishkin's stablemate Jonbon produced another flawless round of jumping to win the Henry VIII Novices' Chase by eight lengths, and he was cut further at the head of the Arkle betting. Love Envoi was cut for the 2023 Mares' Hurdle following her victory in the two-mile handicap hurdle.

A fantastic day for Venetia Williams was capped when Quick Wave bolted up in the London National Handicap. David Maxwell then rode an emotional winner in the Pertemps Network Handicap Hurdle, as he guided Dolphin Square to victory.

Gary Moore watched talented novice Authorized Speed claim an easy victory in the opening novices hurdle. Anthony Honeyball's Coquelicot then lowered West Balboa's colours to win the mares' handicap hurdle.
