Day three of Leopardstown's Christmas Festival is headlined by the Savills Chase. This three-mile Grade One always produces a race of the season contenders, and many of the horses who run at Leopardstown over Christmas will go on to the Cheltenham Festival and run in the Gold Cup.

A handful of Grade One winners sit prominently at the head of the betting here, including two former winners of the Savills Chase. Let's take a look at the current market.

Heading the market we find Minella Indo, who finished second on just his third start over fences in last year's RSA Novices' Chase. This season, Henry De Bromhead's charge has looked better than ever, winning two minor Graded races with ease, and Minella Indo looks primed to run a bit race at Leopardstown over Christmas.

2020 Savills Chase Runners

Champ flew up the hill at Cheltenham to beat Minella Indo in the RSA last March. Nicky Henderson hasn't managed to get a prep-run into his Cheltenham Gold Cup contender, but could still challenge for the win if this is the scene of his reappearance.

Presenting Percy claimed an overdue at Thurles on his last starts, pulling clear of Kemboy after the last to win in good style. Kemboy, who won the Savills Chase two years ago, ran well considering it was his first starts of the season that day, and he'll return to Leopardstown to try and win back his crown.

Delta Work got up late in the day to win this Grade One 12 months ago, before going on to win Irish Gold Cup in February. Gordon Elliott's charge was well-beaten in the JNWine Champion Chase on his return, but always needs his first outing of the season and will give a brave defense of his title.

The Storyteller has bounced back to his best this season, and travels to Leopardstown on the back of a Grade One win in the JNWine Champion Chase. Allaho didn't enjoy his reappearance in a foggy John Durkan, and could appreciate the return to three miles in the Savills Chase.

Monalee finished second here 12 months ago, and ran a blinder to place fourth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup. He could join stablemate Minella Indo in this race, but the King George VI Chase odds suggest Henry De Bromhead will split up his top chasers and send Monalee to Kempton.

Other notable entrants include Melon and Samcro, who're yet to be stepped up to three miles. A Plus Tard is another who might jump right up to three miles in the Savills Chase. Shattered Love and Tornado Flyer are both entered, along with Fakir D'Oudairies, Easy Game and Tout Est Permis.
