2018 Australian Oaks race recap
Unforgotten was a drifter throughout the week in the betting but the punters rallied late and with good reason.
The Chris Waller-trained three-year-old was backed into $4.10 late in the betting and she showed why her form in the Vinery Stud Stakes should have been respected.
A daughter of Fastnet Rock, Unforgotten was left chasing Hiyaam around the final corner, much like in the Vinery Stud Stakes, but this time Unforgotten was able to reel in the Victorian runner.
With Hugh Bowman in the saddle, the filly was able to stretch nicely in the run to the line, scoring by a length over Hiyaam and Miss Admiration ($126) finishing in third to boost trifecta payouts.
Victorian runners finished second, third and fourth to give them a good representation going forward.
